A Nightmare in the Heart of Pitesti: Avoid at All Costs Located in the bustling center of Pitesti, one would expect a hotel to offer comfort, convenience, and a warm welcome. However, my recent experience at La Storia was a stark reminder that appearances can be deceiving. Despite its promising location, this establishment proved to be a nightmarish ordeal from start to finish.
My decision to book a two-night stay via Booking.com quickly turned into regret upon arrival. The first red flag was the closed entrance and the lack of response from the interphone. After resorting to calling a number displayed on the gate, I was met with the rude and abrupt demeanor of what seemed to be the owner or manager.
Upon finally gaining entry, the so-called lobby greeted me with a disarray of furniture and an unmanned reception desk. It took a staggering 20 minutes for someone—presumably a receptionist or housekeeper—to appear. This delayed encounter only foreshadowed the lack of professionalism and care to come.
My inquiries about parking facilities, as advertised on the website, were met with indifference. I was informed that street parking was available at my own expense and risk. Furthermore, the revelation that there was no staff on duty during the night sent shivers down my spine. It became evident that this was not a place prioritizing the safety and well-being of its guests.
Entering the room only confirmed my worst suspicions. It was dirty, cluttered, and devoid of the basic comforts and amenities one expects from any hotel, guest house or hostal. The thought of spending the night in such conditions left me feeling deeply unsettled and unsafe.
Attempting to address my concerns with both the receptionist and the owner only resulted in dismissive responses. I was essentially told to accept the substandard conditions or incur penalties for early departure. The lack of accountability and disregard for customer satisfaction were appalling.
Seeking recourse, I contacted Booking.com, where I made the initial reservation. While assured that I would not be charged, the promised refund from the hotel has yet to materialize. This only adds insult to injury, highlighting the establishment's blatant disregard for its guests' rights and well-being. Of course I refused to spend 2 nights in the location trying to find a last minute and expensive alternative.
In conclusion, La Storia is a place to be avoided at all costs. Its filthy conditions, lack of customer service, rude staff, and overall disregard for guest safety paint a damning picture. It is evident that this establishment prioritizes goals other than hospitality, focused on renting rooms by hour, leaving a lasting impression of...

Read moreThe experience with accommodation at "La Storia Guest House" Pitesti was outrageous. I booked the room for me and my daughter by Booking.com, I announced check-in between 18.00-19.00. Later, I announced that I won't be able to get there, but I paid for the room, according to the policy agreed by Booking.com. That same evening, later, I called to ask if my daughter, who had finally managed to arrive in Pitesti, could still have this room. It was confirmed to me that it is possible to stay, but with check-in not later than 24.00. She arrived at the hotel at 23.30, where a person, who did not mention his name, told her that there was no check-in. I called again to remind the person that he had promised me a check-in by 24.00, but he replied that he did not want to check-in anymore. It was midnight, and my daughter was waiting in the street. I insisted on finding out the reason and he kept repeating "because I don't want it anymore, that's it, I don't want it anymore" and then, in the most rude way, he hung up the phone! I called again, it appears that the call was directed to another person (probably the manager) who agreed to accommodate her that night. In the meantime, my daughter, who had been afraid to wait in the street, went to the Carmen Hotel (which I later found out belongs to the same owner as La Storia). There she paid for her accommodation again, because the person who had refused her check-in at La Storia and who knew she already had a room paid for at La Storia said to her, "I pay for your room at this hotel." What normal girl would have accepted such a thing? He should have explained to her that Carmen Hotel is a common property with La Storia and as payment paid to La Storia it is transferred to Carmen Hotel. Strangely enough, instead of explaining the situation, they chose to accept a new room payment. I was called by another person, probably owner/manager (I talked to 2 people who did not mention their names) and promised to return the cost of the second room. It remains to be seen! The money has not yet arrived in the account! The employee who did not want to bother to check in (after I was promised check-in) and he hung up my phone should not work in this field because he have nothing to do with hospitality! Although the manager seems to have good intentions, as long as he has such employees, it doesn't...
