Haller Boutique — Hotel in Targu Mures Metropolitan Area

Selected the Haller Boutique Hotel based on reviews which are generally very good. Unfortunately, our experience was different: we rang 1 hour before arrival to agree we could park the car by the hotel - we couldn't and the managers kept saying "no problem" rather than understand how inconvenient it was for us. The room was good but for the second night the bed had not been made up - this is so basic as a service but again, the managers did not apologise and just said they would speak to the chamber maid after we had left. The breakfast was OK but being operated independently of the rooms, did not tie in well for our stay. Nice building, nice room but very poor service. We explained to the managers that we would review accordingly but a shrug and "we'll give you a discount next time"...

This new, boutique hotel is in a terrific location just around the corner from the citadel and a short stroll from the main street in town. Our room was beautifully decorated and spacious with a flat screen TV, WiFi, a lovely bathroom (note bathtub only - no shower cubicle) and a citadel view. If you have a car, there is parking in the courtyard next to the hotel and you’ll have to reserve as there are limited spaces. Breakfast is an extra RON50 per person in the onsite restaurant – we didn’t take up this offer as there are plenty of breakfast options nearby. The Haller Boutique is clearly a new development and it shows in the quality of the rooms. I've stayed in a great many hotels - the ratio of quality/value here was better than I can remember in a long time. Our standard room was more than big enough for 2 people to feel comfortable in, with a large en-suite bathroom. The room came with a king-sized, very comfortable, bed along with Nespresso machine and standard tea/coffee facilities.
