We asked for beer and were given the ever popular Romanian hotels response: "we don't have that". The beer menu consists of 2 and a half beers; Heineken and Ursus (with the option of having non alcoholic Ursus as well) We asked for Heineken and were given the typical answer "We don't have that". How can you not have 50% of your listed beers? The girls at our 7-person table ordered different fruit drinks from the menu and were given thesaurus answer. What is the point of listing items on a menu that you donor have? We orders food and were made to wait over an hour for simple pasta and chicken. When asked about the delay wee were told "you weren't the only people in the restaurant". That's funny cause when we arrived here at the Terrace we were the only ones in the entire restaurant. We have been told in the past that some locals may get preferred treatment over traveling people like us but we assumed that being hotel guests as well we might get treated with some degree of respect. I will say this however: The waitress was respectful and kind and her personal service is not reflected in this review. Also it needs to be noted that food quality was excellent. Rooms on the other hand were not exactly what one westerner would expect from a self proclaimed three-star hotel/restaurant. Soap and shower gel or shampoo were limited and not replenished daily. Not to mention that we reserved the room online in advance, we made a call to verify reservation and were told the online reservation was not honored. But were told to rest assured that there is a reservation. On our way to Tulcea we called again to let them know of our arrival and were shocked to be told that there were no rooms available and we would have to go stay at a different hotel (one that we would have to pay for of course ). Their explanation was that the individual who made the reservation over the phone with us did "not know what he was talking about". The price online was more then the price in person or over the phone. Who in the world came up with that nonsense?? We were told one price over the phone and when we showed up we saw a much lower price posted on their price list. Were we being "handled"?...
Read moreWe traveled here last week, with a couple of friends.||We were supposed to stay for 2 nights, but after one night we checked out, and guess this says it all. ||||At check in we were nonchalantly told that the next night there will be a wedding right below our rooms. considering that when we made the reservation NOBODY informed us. We managed to change the room to the next upper level, but our friends had to take the room on level 1, matrimonial bed. We received a room with twin beds, OLD beds, feeling as if there is no cushion between the sheets and the bad frame. The room seemed frozen from a long time ago - old furniture, no air in the room, a tiny bathroom with an old shower - i for one, could no use the shower, and my husband could not sleep at all on the rough bed. ||||Next day, breakfast was a slow experience... 15 min to order, 15 min to get a coffee, an so it gets on ... 1 hour and a half fro breakfast, in my experience it is a lot, considering that we actually eat in 10-15 min, the rest of the time being waiting time ... Perhaps would be a better idea to have an open buffet, instead of this sort of a la carte. ||||As i said, my husband and i checked out earlier, and moved to another hotel, but our friends did not have this option, thus they did not sleep the second night at all - wedding music that stopped around 5 a.m. No excuses where given by the hotel personnel for this, which is very rude in my opinion. ||||One another small comment, we wanted to stay longer for drinks on the terrace, but again whatever we asked from the menu, seemed that they do not have ... ||||As i said, i shall not...

I did complain about this and the hotel manager, which was smelling alcohol in the afternoon, had a very bad attitude .This guy was so far from customer oriented, he was speaking loudly, yelling that the hotel is his house and we shall leave if we are not happy listening music all nights in the hotel.
