My friend and I (over age 65 women) spent 2 nights here. It was a favorite part of our 2 week trip to Romania. John and Sylvia were wonderful hosts and we had most delicious breakfasts and dinners outside in the garden dining area. We each had our own double bed in 2 rooms connected by french doors--large bathroom was down the hall. We were able to experience life in this quiet rural area. Read moreThe place was chosen by our Romanian tour operator and turned out to be a major highlight. The owners could not be more accommodating. The wife is a professional cook with 30 years of experience and most of their supplies are of organic origin (no wonder, as they live in the countryside). Our two dinners at the house were the best in the entire tour. And so were the rich breakfasts. The rooms were spotless, all with en-suite bathrooms and comfortable. Please note these are real locals, born and raised, and not foreign investors in the prosperous Maramures B&B business. John and Sylvia are excellent hosts, the whole place was spotless clean, the folklore show was fun and Sylvia cooking was the best we have had during our entire Romania tour. While there Sylvia had a team of Japanese travel journalists filming a "cooking class" with traditional Romanian dishes. Overall a great experience. No wonder they get fully booked...
