Casa Di David — Hotel in Vatra Dornei

This B&B allows customers to smoke inside, although it is against the law. There are ashtrays everywhere in the hallways and on the balconies. No smokers in my family, but we all (kids and adults) had to go to sleep and wake up with cigarette smoke in our rooms as doors are not air tight. I complained several times, but no-one seemed to really care or know what to do. Really bad experience and customer service was dismal with one of the staff literally saying “We told them not to smoke, but this is all I can do. What can I do if some guests are uncivilized?” … To add to this, the shower drain was not working properly so we showered in a puddle (disgusting!!!) and one of the beds was past its useful life as you could feel the springs popping out. Why is this B&B 4 stars?...

The hotel is well located in the middle of the city, very close to the river. The worse part of the location is the train station which can disturb your sleep.||The food and service in the restaurant is fair enough but can be definitely improved. ||Although the rooms are very spacious the cleanliness is lacking. The carpet is very dirty and smells. Also in the toilet smell like hell. The furniture is over-dated and needs some improvement. Also the TV has same age as me! At least they should drop out a star or two, four stars...

The restaurant-hotel is located across the street from the train-station and 2 minutes walk from the cityhall (city center).||||Prices are medium range, small compared to the fact that it's a tourist area. For comparison, we ate everything that we wanted, drink like wise, and we paid 200 ron for 6 person table.||||You can eat everything here, but the main theme is local cuisine and also italian.
