Magnolia Resort — Hotel in Vișeu de Sus

The experience with Magnolia was disappointing for us, although we traveled a very long way to get there, from Bucharest, and we had high expectations. Unfortunately, at an extremely high price, about 350 eur / night (Easter period), I never felt that it was worth it. Apart from a very nice and benevolent lady who took care of us during our stay, we did not feel that we were living any special experience. Breakfast with sausages bought from the supermarket, "natural juice" was actually Santal, bread from the store, cakes from the supermarket, nothing authentic as we expected and as we experienced in other picturesque areas of the country (eg Cinscsor, Viscri). The Easter meal was a total fiasco, the traditional “drob” doesn't even look good, I don't even mention the taste, and some cut meats also bought from supermarket.|There is no restaurant in the pension, so no menu or options, you have to comply with the menu set for that day.|When I arrived on the first day, after a long and tiring journey, I did not find in the room even a bottle of water or some fruits, only an empty refrigerator. Probably the owner should study a little what hospitality means and what should he offer for such a high cost of services.|Also, in the courtyard of the pension and next to it there are two construction sites where various are being built, so the initial landscape is absolutely disappointing, with garbage, construction materials and piles of earth.|During our stay nothing special was organized for Easter, for example an egg hunt for children, or a visit to a craftsman from the village, any activity whatsoever. We didn’t meet our host and didn’t feel the interest of the hosts in making us a beautiful holiday and to instill in us their love for their origins and their village. Basically I paid over 1000 euros for an accommodation in a nice house, with mediocre food and that's it. I could do this anywhere near Bucharest, at half price, but I had other expectations...

Beautiful acommodation in Maramures and I think the best I've tryied by now. The location is amazing with a great view over the sorroundings and a big garden with blooming trees that we enjoyed every day. The host was very nice she made us feel like home and cooked a delicious food every day. We rented the chalet and it was amazing, beautiful house built in a traditional style but with all the facilities that we needed. The sauna was perfect and completed our vacation. We totally recommend Magnolia Resort, it's a perfect stay for couples but for families too. The only minus a could find is the bumpy road that leeds there, but this doesn't depend on the resort. I wish local authorities were more aware of the beautiful places they have and invest more in...

Auf die kleine, von der Familie Bersan geführte Pension „Magnolia“ in Viseu de Sus, sind wir während unsere Rundreisevorbereitung durch die Maramures aufmerksam geworden, und wir haben dort gewohnt. Vom 08. bis 10. Oktober 2013. haben wir 2 Übernachtungen hier verbracht. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist einwandfrei. Die Gästezimmer sind schlicht, mittlere Größe, aber elegant mit modernem Holzmobiliar wohnlich eingerichtet. Kühlschrank und Fernsehen sind auch vorhanden. Das kleine, moderne Bad ist mit einer Hydromassageduschkabine, Toilette und Haartrockner ausgestattet. Im Haus wurde überhaupt sehr viel Holz verarbeitet. Es ist eine kleine, feine und sehr gepflegte Anlage. Es gibt eine große Streuobstwiese, rundherum eine wunderschöner Natur, frische Luft und der Blick auf die umliegenden Berge. Der einzige Wermutstropfen ist die Zufahrtstraße. An der Hauptstraße befindet sich ein an einen Strommasten genageltes, kleines Schild mit dem Hinweis auf die Pension. Man überquert einen Bahnübergang, dann fährt man über einen Brücke, und weiter führt der Weg durch den Wald hinauf über eine Schotterstraße bis hin zur Pension. Aber keine Angst; der Weg lässt sich gut bewältigen. Die Auffahrt lohnt sich. An der Pension hat man gute Möglichkeiten zum Parken. Es ist empfehlenswert, Frühstück und Abendessen zu buchen. Hier bekommen Sie wirklich eigene Bioprodukte. Zum Frühstück bekommt man richtige Butter, Milch von der eigenen Kuh, Eier von eigenen Hühnern, Honig, selbstgemachte Marmelade, sogar Blaubeermarmelade, usw. Das Essen wird auch traditionell und sehr gut zubereitet, und selbstverständlich gehört auch ein hauseigener Tuica dazu. Alles in allem ist Frau Ioanas Küche sehr schmackhaft und hervorragend. ||Hier findet man einen erholsamen und ruhigen Aufenthalt bei liebenswerten Gastgebern. ||Sprachlichen Problemen gab es nicht. Der Sohn Dan spricht Deutsch und die Tochter Englisch.||Die Pension „Magnolia“ können wir mit gutem Gewissen empfehlen. Auf Grund unserer Erfahrungen findet man in der Umgebung vom Viseu de Sus im Wassertal nichts Besseres. ||||Ildiko und Holger...
