We stayed here for nearly a week. The hotel is located a few minutes drive from the city centre, the front is well presented with ample amount of parking spaces and was kept clean. On our arrival - Saturday evening, we can already hear the loud but nice band playing in the restaurant. Check in was easy, Gabriella is very friendly and got us thru the process. The reception area is clean and well lit. If you’re facing reception desk; There’s a bar on the far right hand corner and the spa/gym/utility area on the left near the lift. There’s also comfortable seating areas near the bar and the entrance door. The room (306) is slightly old fashioned and needs updating. The safe in the room is not functioning, and I immediately mentioned this to reception, which in turn they acted immediately and reset the thing for me. However, when I mentioned it again to them over the phone the following day, they said they will try and get it sorted - which did not happen. I was fed up with the safe and just didn’t use it. Luckily, our belongings, passports, expensive jewelleries didn’t go missing! Our first night was not good due to the band’s noice playing on the first floor! We didn’t mention this as we were considering that it’s our first night and it’s Saturday night, therefore a lot of people would want to party! The rooms were always tidy at the end of each day. When I requested for an iron and ironing board - we ended up ironing our clothes downstairs as we were told they don’t allow this in the rooms which is slightly annoying! Breakfast is always the same options: Olives (green & black), cold processed meats, cheese slices, limited fruits, cereals, some cakes, grilled sliced courgette, stir fried button mushrooms with parsley, plain & tomato omelettes, sausages, selection of coffees from coffee machine and teas. There’s one morning (Wednesday), when our usual lattes tasted off, noticed the milk was curdled in the coffee! I notified the staff and they immediately changed it, for a 4 star restaurant that was embarrassing. If this was in my world of work/business - my clients would immediately want a refund or worse! ... But I still considered that they acted immediately. My advice is to check everything prior to serving! ... Overall, I cannot rate the hotel as 4 star, but...
Read moreBrașov is my native city. It happens that my childhood was spent till the age of 14 (1968 - 1982) in the district where Golden Time Hotel is located (Astra), being in the proximity of my last school. I came back to Brasov after a long period. Because the apartment where I lived was sold by my relatives, I had no choice but to go to a hotel. Instead of choosing the old part of the city, I considered a good idea to come to this hotel and to feel the impressions of my childhood. A hotel is not your home, but for the several days I stayed here with my family. Interestingly, I felt again the beauty and the freshness of my childhood. This hotel was like a home for me during this period. Even my wife had the same experience.||The ambiance was warm, including the comfort of the rooms, but also the amiability of the staff and of the managers. On this little holliday I travelled a lot to and from the hotel in different directions, half of them in the Astra district, where I recalled the places where I lived and where I learned at different schools, and half in the Old Town, where I experienced again the mystical ecstasy of being in the old Kronstadt (Brasov). The departures and the arrivals to and from the hotel were marked by the same nice experience of feeling home. It was the first time such a thing was happening to me.||Of course, if you want to reach the Old Town, you have to take an Uber or to go by car. But the parking is sufficiently large and it is in front of the hotel. Therefore, in just 15 minutes I was in the Old Town, in 7 minutes to the railway station, and I guess in 10 minutes I would have reached the newly opened airport of Brasov from Ghimbav district.||I fully recommend this hotel, and I hope that your experience will be somehow...
