On first impression this hotel is a little out of the way. However, I have just stayed here 5 nights and I have to say it is one of the nicest hotel's in its price range that I have ever stayed in.||Staff could not not be more friendly. ||Nowhere is perfect anyone who says different is a fool. Haha!||Reception is a little confusing after a days travelling, it's on the first floor. But there are lifts available.|Reception is manned 24/7||The hotel is situated approximately 5 minutes walk from an underground station, a small shopping centre, with a much bigger one and central train station within a 15-20 minute walk, this hotel is just far enough away to be tranquil and peaceful but close enough to important amnesties (transport, restaurants, high street and convenience shops) that you won't need a taxi.||I stayed in a superior double. The room had enough space to freely move around. |Being cold outside I used the balcony as a walk-in fridge to keep drinks and chocolate cold. Haha!||The bath gets its own paragraph. BATH LOVERS BOOK THIS HOTEL!!! Huge bath, water ran very hot very quickly, filled it in no time.||This really is a wonderful hotel.||The only problem I had was noisy neighbors.|And to be honest, it was only for 1 day/night.|But I did think the walls were a little thin.|This may be due to the architecture of the building, but is worth noting if you are a light sleeper.||I don't know if management can do anything, but when I spoke to reception, they called the room. |Loud TV or something.||My advice is if you need something, ASK!||I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff and management for a great stay.|Hopefully I...
Read moreI booked this hotel on Expedia and deliberately chose a superior room in order to have more space and air conditioning. When we arrived the hotel seemed nice and reception staff were friendly. We were pleased with the room which had a small enclosed balcony overlooking the court yard - we didn’t realise the park was where the drunks hang out but weren’t that bothered by them. The overhyped terrasse bar was shut for a private function so we were refused entry on the first night. |The real problem was the lack of air conditioning and the staff’s inability to provide fans. We asked everyday and were told they’d get one for us but no fan came and on the 3rd night after being bitten by mosquitoes (the plug in repellent didn’t work) I asked again and was told that although they’d asked the director/manager he was not willing to provide more fans. He was also not available every time we asked to speak to him and clearly doesn’t understand customer service or hospitality. Breakfast was basic and bottled water only provided in the room on the first day. I bled from the bites on the bed sheets but despite this being obvious cleaning staff didn’t change the sheets. All in all not worth the money - I’d choose somewhere more reliable, more central and put up with a smaller room with air conditioning and better service than waste $100+ per night...
Read moreI knew after that long flight from New York and the two layovers in between to get to Russia, we wanted to to get a comfortable night's rest before starting our adventure in Russia. Since most of our accommodations for this trip were going to be at airbnb's, spending the first night at a hotel was a great way to switch it up. Aglaya Hotel & Courtyard has outstanding service from beginning to end. We arranged airport transportation and was met by a lovely driver who knew very little english but went above and beyond in trying to communicate with us through the best app ever, google translate. Arriving at the hotel, checking in was a very fast process. I loved how quaint this hotel was but also had it's modern touches. It has seven floors, with a great rooftop terrace and restaurant located on the bottom floor. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. The hotel is situated near many restaurants, pharmacies, and stores which is great to walk to and explore around the neighborhood. Our booking included a free breakfast. It's buffet style breakfast offering a juice bar, coffee, fruits, pastries, eggs, meats, and bread selection. Loved this hotel and highly recommend checking it out whenever in...
