My husband and I stayed in room n.1 for three weeks in November, during our stay in Saint Petersburg. The room is the biggest, we chose it to have enough space to be able to both work during our stay, which worked really well because the wifi signal is strong and effective. ||The little kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook, whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner. That was quite handy especially in coronavirus times when you don’t want to mix with people too much. There’s a handy mini market on the corner of the opposite street which has everything you need. ||There’s also a washing/drying machine! So handy for longer periods of time. ||The bathroom has a bath where you can also shower, towels and linens are changed every 3 days and you also get a robe and slippers. Very modern and clean.||The bed is big and super comfy and the heating is perfect, we slept really well!||The location of the Underwood Art Room hotel is perfect: right in the city centre, 15 minutes walk from Nevsky Prospekt and there are lots of different restaurants (Asian, Italian, Georgian, Mexican, steak, burgers, crab) you can choose from. All quite stylish. ||Our favourite one is The Sizzle, just downstairs! Food is really delicious you should try it (and the menu is translated to English ahaha) ||We didn’t have particular issues with the language, many places speak a basic English that’s good enough. The majority of restaurants don’t have menus in English though, so make sure you have the Google translate app so that you can translate.||The customer service is absolutely great: Semyon and Anna are so so so nice and helpful!!! Sem waited for us until 22:30 in the evening on the day of our arrival and tailored the cleaning of our room to our needs. |He’s always smiling and kind and ready to help! Anna came in really quickly when we texted her on whatsapp that the super safe and sensitive fire alarm went off because someone was cooking :) ||Thank you Sem & Anna! ||We will definitely come back to Underwood Art Rooms next time we are in Saint Petersburg and...
Read moreIt's a small 7 room hotel on Rubenstein street. I wasn't expecting much but boy!! The only time I get this level of service and attentiveness is when I stay at the Ritz or the Taj. |Where do i even start? |1. They communicate with you via whatsapp because of language issues and thankfully all the managers on duty understand English perfectly. The entire booking and visa process was easy with polite and punctual support. Despite the time difference when I was in Mumbai I always got a prompt reply to my questions. |2. When you arrive at the hotel, don't get put off by the entrance or the lift, the hotel is a different world when you enter. It's tastefully decorated and comfortable. We stayed in Family room 5 which I think is one of the best rooms available. It was spacious and extremely clean with amazing water pressure in the bathroom. The housekeeping service was brilliant. |3. There's a nespresso machine and fruits of your choice with a lovely little kitchenette.|4. This street has permanent traffic because of all the restaurants so go to Nevsky prospect to catch a taxi or just walk everywhere. |5. And now the main point, the managers. An extra special thank you to Anton, Sam and Anna. They truly deserve customer service awards and are the ones that made a great hotel outstanding. They're always smiling, always ready to help, booked multiple taxis for us without a single complaint (my taxi booking apps weren't working in Russia) made sure we safely got on to the correct taxi. They made sure the heater was on in our room just before we reached back to the hotel in the nights. The list is endless, they anticipated and fulfilled our every need. Anton even sourced a handmade cheburashka in the perfect size for me, picked it up from the artist and came to give it to me on his weekly off as I had a flight the same day. ||I'm definitely going to be staying here the next time I'm in...
Read more«+» |I really liked the hotel! It was recently opened. Everything there is new and modern. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They allowed me an early check-in, my room was ready by 10 a.m. The room was big enough, it had 2 levels. Second level had a floor mattress. The bed was super comfortable. My room had a little kitchen. Hotel’s location is really good. It is located at the city center in a very cosy area with many restaurants and cafes. All the major city’s sights are walkable! |«-»|The biggest minus for me was very strict rules about having guests at my room. Basically every single guest I wanted to have visit had to provide the front desk their passport and make a copy of it (for security reasons). I found all this security very unnecessary. Plus, not many people carry passports with them. And hotel policy demands passports only. I was told, even a driver license would not work. Second minor issue for me was the bathroom amenities. I found them very cheap and not...
