Mercure Kaliningrad — Hotel in Kaliningrad

Unfortunately there is not mentioned a restaurant called Simpatio located in a Mercure hotel, but by visiting that place for a more than a few times I definitely would recommend to visit that: their staff is elegant and helpful, their bar zone in the hotel lobby is shining and it correlates the modern high atmosphere. Kitchen-wise I have some questions to the dishes (soups and main positions) lately, but the kitchen responds very much politely and corrects if there is something wrong. A cold borscht last time was a mix of water and свёкла, so better ask if they changed the recipe. The cocktail „Siberian ice coffee“ is a changing the world cocktail, never tried it before, but was in love from the first sip, it’s a must try Position there!! Also dessert-wise there is a piece of love called „Pavlova“ that’s generally the best „Pavlova“ in the city!! Photos included and for me the best experience would be a cocktail and a dessert mentioned above on their nice coachy terrace! Hotel Mercure on the shore of Upper Lake was very convenient, food in the hotel restaurant "Torro grill" was perfect. Conference facilities in Mercure were good. ||Walking around in the city was safe, the main Cathedral, restored by Germans, as we were told, was in 15 min walking distance. Every day at 2 pm there are short organ music concerts and from a nearby pierce in the Fishermen Village, there are boat trips for sight-seeing starting from 1 hour length. Participants of the trip get 10% discount for hot drinks in the nearest cafe after landing. Mulled wine "according to an old German recipe with berries and spices" was on sale on the bridge taking one back to the Cathedral Island. Disappointing right out of the gate. We rented 2 rooms for a week, chose this hotel because we wanted average European quality and service. Right away it became clear that this place was not it when at registration they could not advise me where to change the currency ($) or at least qprovide any guidance on this issue as my US cards won’t work. On the plus side, the location of the hotel, the speed of service and the workers who cleaned the rooms (+++). Of the minuses - water flowed noisily in the toilet most of the time, room service requests that were not addressed, excuses and the unwillingness of some staff to help with basic things and the fact that you can hear the neighbors.
