Worst Hotel I’ve ever stayed in Travelled for work from London. 9 days of no sheet / pillow changes. Even when original sheets had stains. They claim they only have brooms and no vacuum cleaner. There is a stale mouldy smell in the hotel. No divider between the shower and toilet Dirty towels. Toilet roll constantly missing. Restaurant food quality is poor. Breakfast is poor. AC only on when you are in the room. Rooms are poorly furnished. Floors have stains. Marks. Cleaning is sub standard. Decor is dusty. Old. No Iron is provided. TV doesn’t work Phones to call reception have been installed but don’t work. Internet is slow and security certificate has expired. So not a safe wifi. You cannot have more than 6 mins of running hot water before it’s cold Permitted to one towel a day. Bed slippers when asked to be changed. Are not. Lots of flies and mosquitoes. Hotel toiletries are half used and not of quality. Hand towels to wipe hands not provided. Lowest standard of hotel. Book the raddison blue which is 3 mins away.

Fantastic suite for a great price! Unfortunately the staff (or the Manager in particular) wasn’t reasonable. I had missed my flight due to adverse weather in Europe and emailed to discuss a solution in person. When I arrived, the staff at the desk said it would be possible to switch my booking for an extra night; I need only speak to the Manager the following day. AMEX, which I booked it through, said they would defer to the establishment also. Unfortunately, the Manager didn’t even wait for me to finish the request before a blanket refusal, and then wouldn’t engage in further conversation. I checked out immediately. The restaurant staff were super friendly, as were the other desk staff. Shame about senior staff.

Room: Overall pretty okay, it has proper air conditioning which was needed. The bathroom however was a bit less, you either had a cold or hot shower but there was almost never an in between Breakfast: Opens at 7am and not a lot of choice when it comes to options, everything was very basic Personnel: The personnel was quite friendly and helpful Issue: I had to switch room because of a leak in the toilet, the cleaning lady had discovered this. However when I came in my room there was nothing there and also the fact that my room was at 'Do Not Disturb' kind of annoyed me since this means they ignored it and still went in

The place is not worth the time of writing this review, but people deserve to be informed in advance. The room is spacious, the food is decent and the AC works. That's all the good stuff. In a place of hot temperature like Dakar, they will only offer a small bottle of water the first day, the rest is on you even if you stay for a week. Anywhere in East Africa they give you two every night. Drinking water is a right. If you don't want the expense, install a filter and give refills like the do in SA.

The wifi is not secure and if you come with a corporate computer you won't be able to connect from the rooms. But why would you come to work from here? They will not offer you even the use of an iron box. If you want to straighten up those business casual clothes that you had to carry in your luggage they will ask you to pay for the ironing service. And don't ask the manager if there is anything they can do for the over 50 people that you have brought to their business. They don't care. You have already paid and are stuck with them, so take it. Zero interest in making the customer comfortable, all they want is your money.

That's how they get to be the cheaper option that your tender committee will approve, by putting all the extras on you to pay on top of a very basic service.

Also, the windows haven't been cleaned for a decade and the carpets and bed covers show age stains. The sockets are scarce and not near the desk so, again, not work friendly. Even charging the phone at night requires the juggling of removing the unhelpfully humongous lamp on the bedside table off the socket to have a place to plug in your device. That or put it on the floor on the other corner of the room and good luck waking up to put off the alarm in the morning. There is no view, no good location, nothing that would justify...

I travel to work in Africa regularly. I know to keep my expectations low. I paid for my stay ahead of time, and that was my mistake. I'm still waiting for my refund as I left 4 days before I planned to leave, so that I could transfer to the Terrou-Bi which is like maybe 20 or 30$ more a night.

I didn't have a single hot shower the whole time I stayed here - 4 Days... and they didn't switch my room, it took them 3 days to try and fix it. Not a single open electrical outlet to charge my things. Breakfast was bad. No eggs, just leftover dinner fare and baked goods. Not even milk and a bunch of uninterested staff that circle behind the bar and chat with eachother while the entire dining room is missing plates, silverware, sugar, salt, etc.

The service was even worse than the food. Food was so bad that I had to order takeout. I asked for silverware and a plate from roomservice... and room service told me to come down and get it myself because I wasn't ordering anything (Even though you have to pay about 4-8 dollars for room service period. I had to order a coke just to get the plate and the silverware.

The minibar/fridge in the room kept my drinks nice and room temperature.

Security here is poor. The metal detector/XRAY machine is not even used. No one checks your ID or your car when you roll up to the parking, and there is zero perimiter around the building which is off of a main road.

I asked for a refund on the nights I didn't stay, and they said they couldn't run a negative charge on the machine, and that they would have to facilitate a wire transfer, and they told me I'd be responsible to pay the fees . Four weeks later, and I still haven't gotten a refund. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Do not stay here, it's a complete...
