I made reservations for 4 night stay 10th August to 14th. Upon arrival, I went through the process and I gave my Barclays Debit card for payment. Unfortunately, the card transaction for some reason did not go through. This is the same debit card I use when I travel and even used it at The Wheatbaker Hotel, Lagos on the 3rd of August. After the second try, I got a text message from my bank that the amount has been earmarked on my account. I called for the manager who came and explained that my bank should reverse transaction within 24 hours. Now my funds are not available and I needed to pay for the hotel. The manager left and the guy at reception asked if I had another form of payment. I said no. I was disappointed that the Manager did not stay around to see what else can be done about the situation. I paid 160,000 from the cash I had to secure one night. I called my bank and had the transaction reversed so I went downstairs with the Radisson Blu staff to use the ATM. Ecobank declined it and Bank of Africa retained my card. Michel with the business center was the only staff that treated me with respect and attempted to get the bank officials to come and open the ATM so I can get my card back. Unfortunately they were not able to come to the hotel to release my card. I went to the manager and asked him what is next. He bluntly told me, he had to get payment for the room for rest of nights and indirectly telling me I am out of luck then. He was really cold and had no customer service attitude. He was cold and nonchalant about the situation. I told him I will check out next day and look for hotel that would accept my card. He did not seem to care about that either. I made arrangements at Terrou-Bi to stay the remaining 3 nights. I woke up in the morning and went to Bank of Africa to ask them to come get my card which they did. After I received my card, In the process of checking out, I told the lady I was checking out early because I am not happy and all she said was "oh ok. everything is paid, thank you" She did not care either! I couldn't believe it. such arrogance. Attitude of 'we are not begging you to stay here' was so evident in the staff. Luckily, I was able to pay with my card at Terrou-Bi for all 3 nights and was given a lovely room which was better than that of Radisson Blu and cheaper. Their staff were so pleasant to deal with and I am enjoying my first night stay here. I will ensure my company does not make any more reservation for any of our staff going forward at Radisson Blu, not that they care anyway. They need more people like Michel in that hotel. Thier staff needs to learn customer service and go above and beyond their call of duty to handle such situations better. Finally, an institution like Radisson Blu should have better POS systems that accepts more international cards as people rarely travel with cash these...
Read moreTerrible service! I went to the outdoor bar area to order food 2 days in a row and I had to get up to get a waiter's attention. There's a lot of them but it seems I was ignored. If I didn't get up to get their attention they would have not attended me. Front desk is terrible as well. I went to ask if they could add my previous stay to my Radisson account and was told only the manager was able to do so..was told to come back in 30 min in which I did..came back within 30 min and was ignored yet again. I told the lady I was back waiting for the manager and she said to wait and so I did..after 40 min went by, I approached another front desk personnel and he said, oh you've just missed him..that was him walking down the stairs..the first lady I spoke with literally disregarded the fact that I was there waiting patiently and not only that, she didn't even inform the manager..who am I to know what the manager looks like? To me, that's just plain unprofessional and poor customer service!!..the hotel itself smells like mold as soon as you walk thru it's hallway..when I got to my room it was even worse smell. I did see mold on the hallway ceiling at level 1. I feel like this hotel is just getting worse every time I visit..they definitely need to work on their customer service for all the department of this entire hotel!!
I called every day to ask them to fix the shower drain as it wasn't draining fast enough and was causing water over flow to the sink area. It never got fixed nor was I offered to be moved to another room.
Tried to order room service, some of the food are not specified if their grilled or what not..when I asked the operator they asked me what the menu says, obviously I don't know because the menu is not specific..she had to call me back to get clarification..drinks served at the bar can't be served to the room...what a bummer! It's like, they're in the same hotel!!!
Oh, and why not have a physical copy of the menu? Everything doesn't have to be digital..we should have both options!!!
Wifi??? Like, how does this not even reach all the rooms and all areas of the hotel? I couldn't get any work done in my room cause wifi was undetected and intermittent in the bar area.
Only positive of my stay is the sunset. Location is perfect to...
Read moreStarted out by the front desk trying to charge us double of the listed price, that was taken care of, then we were given a room that smelled like mildew and had a cracked patio glass door) that was taken care of by changing us to a different room...which as the night progressed started smelling as well (probably needs some carpet changing/shampooing). The high rated hotel is filthy! While in the shower the water did not drain. We asked for extra towels and were quickly told our quota (2 women in the room and were not to exceed 3towels!). We then went for food, which after an hour of waiting, the seafood tasted like sewer water, to which the server told us he "ate it all and it was VERY good quality! Maybe the fish was not fresh but the other food was EXCELLENT!" Yeah, that made us feel much better lol. Both of us have extensively traveled and can discern between "good" quality...so that was just insulting. Drinks by the way were $30 for two shots of brandy!! Its Senegal! Don't even pay this is the States, in Sedona or other great resorts...anyway, since we were still pretty hungry (but didn't trust any more food) we asked for wine..well that never came. "Entertainment " (the dj) promptly ended at 8:30 and the clean up crew came quickly as to alert everyone it was time to go (oh, super small patio type thing and no beach access). In the middle of the night we realized that the walls were paper thin and a lady was having a loud conversation outside our door. We let that go for about 15min and realized no one else was bothered by this 12am interruption. About 15min after we alerted the front desk, the security came to OUR room knocking! Well, there went the sleep for the night. In the morning we asked for extra body wash and they pretended not to understand English (which that was the ambiance throughout the stay, they understood English to charge but other than that I guess everyone pretended not to speak English at all...really? At a "upscale" Raddison??). What a waste of a good night and good money! Wanted to upload pics but there's something with my settings on the phone that won't allow. Anyway, glad others enjoyed their stay but we couldn't wait to get away from there and actually...
