Disappointing Experience Despite Good Location and Reception
I stayed at Hotel Nota, Belgrade for 7 days and wanted to share a balanced review of my experience.
Pros:
Great Location – The hotel is centrally located, so you can walk to most of Belgrade’s popular attractions. Very convenient for sightseeing.
Warm Receptionist – The morning receptionist was kind and welcoming. Their helpful and positive attitude made check-in and morning interactions pleasant.
Cons:
Unprofessional Restaurant Service – I had a disappointing experience with the restaurant staff. I asked for something simple like fruit with bread and jam, but it was ignored. When I requested white butter, they brought cream and reacted as if they were doing me a favor. Their attitude felt dismissive and unprofessional.
No Support for Vegetarians – I told the staff multiple times that we are vegetarian. They kept assuring me that the chef would prepare something special, but nothing was done, even after repeated reminders during our 7-day stay.
No Breakfast for Early Departure – We had an early morning flight and were promised packed food for the road. Unfortunately, nothing was ready when we checked out, despite the confirmation.
No Drinking Water Supply – The hotel does not provide regular drinking water. We had to buy bottled water from outside every day. I’m not sure if this is common in Serbia, but it felt inconvenient and not up to standard for hotel hospitality.
Overall: The location and one helpful receptionist were the only positives in an otherwise disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for vegetarians or those expecting...
Read moreThe business lunch at this establishment can only be described as a delightfully competent affair, where neither the food nor the service could be called anything less than precisely what one expects from a well-established venue. The staff, attentive yet unpretentious, move with the practiced grace of professionals who know their trade, offering advice on the menu without the slightest hint of condescension. The cuisine itself, though far from revolutionary, offers a reliable satisfaction — the sort of meal that does its job without attempting to wow the senses. It is neither a grand feast nor a simple repast, but something comfortably in between, much like the atmosphere of the place itself: refined, but not overstated. Aptly named Nota, the restaurant strikes a harmonious balance, echoing the notion of a musical note — neither a crescendo nor a diminuendo, but a steady, pleasing tone. There is no great adventure to be had here, but that is...
Read moreThe hotel is located between apartment buildings, making it somewhat difficult to find. The price is reasonable, and it is very clean. It has only one floor, with no elevator, free parking, an indoor restaurant and a garden that can be closed off if needed. The bathroom is clean and equipped with soap, shampoo, shower gel, a dental care kit and a shaving kit. For transit or business, it is very good.|One issue: Breakfast is à la carte, traditional Serbian (all with eggs). We would have liked cereals, fruits, yogurt, etc. We were the first to have breakfast because we wanted to leave early, but it took a long time for them to bring our orders, even though they were the same for all six of us. The night we arrived, we had dinner in the hotel garden and the food was very good (we took a picture...
