We stayed here from 30Jun till 03Jul, room 205.
First of all, I would like to praise following people:
a) Ashveena at front desk. Very polite and nice, professional person. Extremely easy checkin and checkout process. All going so fast. Special greetings for her from both of us. :-)
b) Adit. Restaurant manager. Came to introduce himself at our first breakfast and came with team to give us a gift at our last breakfast. Very nice guy ;-)
c) Restaurant staff: chef of the kitchen, Nicholas, Nemma, Maria Michelle. All very nice and friendly people.
Advantages of hotel:
this was a part of our honeymoon. We had daily surprises like bottle of Champagne, cake, daily animations on bed from towels and flowers. Really nice gesture from hotel staff :)
water complimentary daily 00-24h at many hotel locations.
NEW rooms, new hotel, new furniture, excellent sound proof system, high technology (EU and middle east electricity slots, USB electricity slots, nice shower system, mirrors with lights). New comfortable beds.
3 swimming pools (1 for kids), volleyball pitch (grass and sand), football pitch.
00-24h gym.
no bugs nor mosquitoes as desinsection is done daily.
hotel events daily (drink tasting, music nights).
ok location, in the middle of coast. 10 mins to Petite Anse by ride. 20 mins to Anse Intendance. Car rental service next to hotel (Zaya, left separate review for it).
in overall easy going hotel. Lot of quality sun-beds around the pools. All for free of course including towels.
In overall, nice developing hotel. If you want to be picky you can always find some faults but for future and previous tourists - this is developing hotel opened on 28Mar24, with staff that is still getting familiar with each other and being integrated. Hotel is expanding widely in the rear area, beach is still not developed per hotel standards. You can find here all you need: parking, pools, gym, two bars broadcasting EU football championship, absolutely new and very modern rooms. Juniors are mentored by seniors. So it all depends on what you want to see - if you want to see faults, you can see it. If you want to see good things, you can see plenty of them. Let’s give this hotel a chance as it has high potential ;-)
To hotel General Manager: please keep good staff, they may become core team members in future. Continue developing the hotel towards beach and rear area, WiFi coverage. And be ready in one moment for increased number of tourists.
Greetings...
Read moreThe hotel itself is very beautiful, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. However, unfortunately, it was not clean at all. The housekeeping was consistently poor. We spoke twice with the cleaning staff and asked them clearly and politely to clean more thoroughly, but sadly, nothing changed.
My husband accidentally spilled some cola on the floor of the balcony, and for four days, it was never cleaned. The same goes for the room – it was never properly cleaned, and the trash was often left behind or not disposed of correctly.
Now to the food: I stayed in the Seychelles for eight days during our honeymoon, and sadly, the food was the same every single day. Breakfast was always the same with very little variety, and the lunch and dinner menus were identical – the same menu every day for eight days, with almost no change at all. The meals lacked diversity and were not at the level you’d expect from a 5-star hotel.
The beach bar was another disappointment – the food there was not tasty and extremely overpriced. A pizza cost us €25, which I find quite unreasonable.
This was our honeymoon, and we had saved a lot of money for this trip, so it’s really disappointing to feel that it was not worth the price. I want to warn others who might be planning to spend their hard-earned money here for a special occasion – because unfortunately, there’s very little food variety, and there are no restaurants or shops nearby as alternatives.
We did one boat tour, but beyond that, there wasn’t much to do.
We booked half-board, but even then, we had to pay for all our drinks at dinner, which was surprising. Drinks should normally be included with dinner in a half-board package, but we had to pay for every single drink, even water. What’s worse – the waiters would immediately come running after bringing the drink, asking us to sign the receipt right away. It felt uncomfortably pushy, as if they were afraid we would run off without paying.
Unfortunately, I cannot rate this hotel with five stars. It may look nice on the outside, but the service, cleanliness, and food are far from 5-star level. We had to eat the same meals every day for eight days, from morning to evening – which is unacceptable, especially during...
Read morePlease read this review before deciding/reading others. I'm a Hilton diamond member, and I have been to Hilton's and other 5* all around the world Canopy is a new hotel. We book it blindly, trusting the Hilton quality. We were not disappointed. First of all, the ROOMS. You have 2 room services every day. Rooms have a view of the pool (ours) or some of the Ocean. Our King apartment was very big, with a big bathtube and a shower seperate. On the balcony, you have a one-person sofa and two very comfortable chairs with a legrest. It's not true that in the room there are no bathrobs what you could read in other review, regarding missing hotel amenities. ALL is there shaving stuff, toothbrush, cotton pads... All is clean and tidy. FOOD For the breakfast is a la carte menu with 5 options (enough) with some local specials like Seychelles Shekshuka. The waiter serves you the caffe/tea of your choice and a water. You can go for a ice tea, lemonade or fresh squeeze orange juice or some other. Then, there are tables with fresh fruits, salads, and breakfast buffet. For the dinner we were pretty scared by reading the comment about "only rice with no salt". This is not true. Every day, you have at least 5 options for live cooking changed every day (fish, lamb chops, chicken legs/wings, tacos, etc). Then there is a buffet and a "sweat table" with a variety of sweets changed every day. For us the best thing was a "live cooking" salad bar. The cook is making a salad in front of you from the fresh ingridients. I mean who does that in Europe? :) What is also important is the fact, that the dining hall, especially the dinner is not overcrowded, which makes you easy to find a good sit and not to wait in a line for food. To be honest, this is way better than in other eating options in Europe. STAFF They are very friendly and will do anything that you ask; if not, they will find a way to help you. We felt very secure and confident with them. Don't even compare it with overcrowded London's Vienna or Paris hotels. 9/10 for me. Minus one for the small and not so pretty beach, but for 300 rupees the taxi would take you to Four Seasons with a free entrance to a really...
