Anchor looks like your average side of the road, local restaurant. It is very close to where we were staying in the Seychelles so we decided to try it for a casual dinner - and I'm so glad we did! The blackened fish is great, I've also tried the smoked fish salad which is fresh and seasoned well. The Creole curries are beautifully spiced but not spicy and my prawn and pineapple pizza is my favourite new discovery! The staff are really friendly and the owner Yvonne is very sweet, it's now the kind of place I will return to for a home-style, comfort food dinner. I will say the prices are a little high and in comparison with a 5 star hotel next to where I live, however, I love to support a local business, the food is great, atmosphere is always busy and the view over the bay with the sunset is stunning. Well worth a stop!

My hubby and I had the blackened fish, and the catch of the day. There were both so good! The sunset, the artistic decor, the friendly geckos and friendly staff (was it the owner?), and the most delicious food definitely made this restaurant worth the money. We actually extended our trip and hoped to go there on our last night but it was closed I believe because of a public holiday. I was really hoping to try more dishes on the menu because what we had ordered tasted like it was worthy of a Michelin star kind of restaurant. My son has a pizza and he also loved it.

Nice food, good location but we was surprised by “service charge”!!! It is not mentioned in menu, waitress didn’t informed us before we ordered. It just was in our bill. Not good. Our suggestion to the owner is to make it clear for clients. Otherwise it looks like you playing games :( Another unpleasant moment was that when we asked for baby chair we didn’t get it not because they don’t have it but because as waitress explained it that took long time to clean it and she didn’t want to waist her time with that 😁 🤦‍♀️ from one side it is funny from another not…

We stopped at Anchor Cafe after a visit to Petite Anse, not knowing what to expect but we were starving and didn't care. As it turns out, our stomachs picked very well, because Anchor Cafe was one of the best meals we had on Mahe. I got the fish and chips, which were very tasty and some of the best I've had in quite a while - great breading, a little oily (which I like), and fish that's cooked enough to not be slimy and limp.

If you don't like seafood (like my girlfriend), they still have other options, though they're limited during lunchtime. My girlfriend got the chicken nuggets and, to her surprise, found them to be really, really good.

The service in terms of time between ordering and receiving the food is a little slow (which we found to be common in Seychelles - I think we're just used to Western expectations), so be prepared for that if you go. Definitely...

Hey, Greetings from India ! We just explored this place over an evening walk and this was one of the best things we invested our time in Seychelles. The food is awesome not only in taste but the way its served with love and beautiful smiles. The feel is what wins over your taste buds. Entrance to the cafe is through a self designed garden and you can see the staff from quite long, greeting you through eyes and tender smiles. Everything on the menu is delicious but you must try "Cheese cake" which is a sweet blessing with an emotional hangover for days. Must try Guys! My Husband and I spent the best moments of our trip at this place and the love and respect we received from everyone here is a lifetime...
