CUBE - Family Boutique Capsule Hotel @ Chinatown — Hotel in Singapore

This is for the family boutique cube hotel, not the original cube hotel next door.

I originally booked this place for my partner and me for a few nights, but after checking in and getting to our room, we immediately booked another hotel. We had to stay one night since we arrived late in the evening. The pictures are deceiving as the same bathroom picture is used for all the room types. From the pictures, the 4-person private room looks nice and large with a long L-shaped walkway in the room. I would suggest that if you are 2 people, book the 4-person room just for the additional space.

The worst experience was the shower, where the bathroom and shower were together with no divider. The grossest thing is that the shower water gets everywhere, especially the Toilet Scrubber holder. I noticed the holder was already filled with water as I started to shower and Immediately stopped showering in fear that there was feces water flooding the bathroom floor. Other issues that we found: There is a small sink in the standing area of the room. This area is so small that you can barely bend down and get your face near the sink to get any amount of toothpaste into the sink. A lot of it ends up on the floor.. which isn't the first time for this room as there are white toothpaste stains on the floor from previous guests.

There were also a few brown spots on the blanket and brown markings on the white towels ( I tell myself that it's makeup stains so that I can sleep at night).

We booked the deluxe double room, but the room was so small that you couldn't close the door unless your luggage was on the bed (There are nooks to put your luggage into behind the door.. but the door needs to be closed first).

There is a pull-down table at the foot of the bed but that table was so smashed and broken that the hinges were broken and only 1 of the 2 piston arms were even connected (it was held on with tape). Also behind this table were 2/3 wallplugs near the bed, since we couldn't use the table, we had to unplug the TV and charge one device at a time.

The AC was nice and strong but it sometimes pulls in the smelly alleyway air. The doors are thin, so you can hear people talking and opening/closing doors.

The lady receptionist at the front offered us a different room but by then we had already decided to leave. There are signs that the location was undergoing necessary...

THIS IS THE BEST SERVICE HOTEL EVER!!! I forgot my ear piece at the hotel and left but they keep it for me😇Very honest and kind hearted housekeeper who found my item and pass it to front desk for lost and found!! Housekeeper and front desk who keep this for me so grateful to you!!! To me i truly think the value of a hotel is a good hearted service and also a kindness of treating guest item. For this i cannot express how much i am grateful for them to keep my stuff at lost and found, i guess any guest understand the feelings of losing your stuff and found them back again. Thank you so much. Beside this, we didn't know deposit policy and didn't have cash with us only debit card, the staff were kind enough to let us get through this one night. Most importantly, although their room was superb small but for hygience wise it is quite clean and i especially content with their very clean and sparkling clean toliet. Everything is included like hair dryer with free minibars and enough amenities for each room paid. I guess this may not be enough space for most people but to be really honest compared to other hotel of small space, this family cube capsule hotel has the best quality for price wise and cleanliness, although it is really small for 2 person in double room even if it is just for 1 person but for 1 or 2 night stay if you spend most of the time out or just need a place to sleep after long flight, this is a good choice if you are on the budget for price wise. Stress free place, their staff so humble and kind hearted. See the picture i attached, they even keep a note for my lost and found item. I was too eager to open my item and forget to screenshot the whole picture but for this kind gesture who couldn't feel safe at here? I feel so safe where this place is cleaner and safe than so many places i travel and have been to, this is so fantastic, i only paid $53++ for a night didn't expect they do everything so well. They may not have huge room for double room but they have the best price in return. Just...

Whilst I DO recommend staying here, there are a number of caveats to this that are not abundantly clear when making a booking.

In saying that, starting with the positives: The staff are truly very helpful and friendly. The digital check in and check out process did work quite well. I didn’t encounter any issues with it or the app. The location is absolutely incredible. A minute or two from Chinatown MRT and walking distance to Chinatown markets and Maxwell.

However: We were allocated a “no windows” family room that fits six. This is essentially two bunk beds - one single and one double. There is very little space for luggage unless you put it in your bed - the walking area is very small and narrow to the point where two people couldn’t walk past each other. Therefore it is very cramped and not as spacious as the photos on the website suggests. The power outlets are behind these wood panels that fold down next to each bed. Once folded down you do not have any space to lie down on the bed without hitting that wood panel. The bathroom is in the room and is smaller than the photos on the website. There was only ONE TV for the whole room - for the bottom bunk of the double bed bunk. The walls are paper thin, a family checked in to the room next door in the early hours of the morning and woke us up. No lift/elevator. We had to carry all suitcases up two flights of stairs. Cleanliness could be better. The room was slightly dusty and some of the sheets had dried spots on them.

We did pay a good price for these rooms considering how expensive Singapore is for accomodation but it should be clear what you are getting for this price - great location and service but very...
