Alright folk, 国医堂 G&G TCM Medical Pte Ltd, located on Smith Street in the heart of Singapore, is a well-established traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clinic that has been serving the community for many years. Known for its commitment to providing high-quality, personalized care, the clinic offers a comprehensive range of TCM services to address a wide variety of health concerns. Donkey has been going to 国医堂 for a while now, and he can't recommend them enough. He's even sent a few friends their way, and they've all had great experiences.
Donkey has had a particularly positive experience with Dr. Edward Chow, who's stationed at the new outlet on Smith Street. On one occasion, his son had a stiff neck after sleeping on a stiff pillow, and he was immediately cured by Dr. Chow. Dr. Chow is not only a skilled physician, but also a good friend. They've been motorcycle riding buddies since 2016, and he's always been a kind and helpful guy. Donkey was lucky to be able to see Edward, as it's Christmas Day and he doesn't usually work on public holidays.
Recently, I had back pain and was struggling to find relief. I had visited several other practitioners, but with no success. Donkey recommended 国医堂 to me, knowing they had a good reputation and that many of his friends had positive experiences there. He was particularly excited to tell me about the new outlet on Smith Street, where his good friend Dr. Edward Chow is stationed. He's also one of the top 10 Chinese physicians in Singapore, which is a testament to his skills.
I went for a consultation and received acupuncture and therapy. I mentioned that I saw significant results, and I was impressed with the new outlet. Donkey also took some pictures of the place. The first floor is for consultations and therapy, the second floor is dedicated to foot and body massage, and the third floor is a VIP room. The whole place is nicely renovated and very cozy and welcoming—you really feel relaxed in this space. It's usually fully packed and you need to make appointments days in advance to get a slot, but luckily, since it was Christmas Day, we were able to walk in without an appointment.
I'm happy to report that I'm feeling much better after my visit. The doctors at 国医堂 are clearly experts in their field, and they take a personalized approach to treatment. While the prices are slightly higher than some other practitioners, the therapy is efficient and effective, so I think it's worth it. The consultation fee is $25, acupuncture is $70, and the Meridian Repair Instrument (which requires practitioner guidance) is $30 for a 15-minute session. I'm so grateful for their help. I highly recommend 国医堂 to anyone looking for a reliable and effective TCM clinic...

Edit: (Now that I have more time to write a proper review.) I've been having lower back pain for a while now and it's been a very complex issue. Thought I'd try this place for the adjustments as I felt that my hips were misaligned. Been going to physio and orthopaedic doctor and it's been a slow journey of recovery.
I received acupuncture, some therapy with a machine to loosen the muscles on my back, and afterwards bone settlement. Acupuncture was very painful, but I know that it's never a walk in the park. They hit the right spots on my glutes where my muscles were fatigued. I think it was helpful, though I did get a bruise at one spot.
The bone settlement felt like an after thought. I had changed out of the clothes provided by the clinic because the acupuncture and therapy session was done, and the Dr looked at my posture again and said that my neck is also misaligned so he'll do some adjustments for me. I went back to get bone settlement, and it was a routine procedure that he performs on everyone, instead of tailored to my issue. I've seen the videos on TikTok, so I know it's the same. Some areas cracked while some didn't, and at some points I felt like Dr was really pushing to get a crack when my body didn't want to.
Overall it felt like they are not very interested in understanding my whole pain journey, and proceeded with procedures that they normally prescribe. I've had similar encounters with other TCM doctors, so it might be the trade. Right now my lower back/ tailbone area feels a bit more sensitive, with occasional radiating pain. I can't say it's because of the treatment, but the slight relief in the treatment definitely doesn't last.
The staff are nice and gave me an umbrella as it was raining. You'll be asked to write a review to get some coupons and they'll check it before giving to you. I wasn't going to but felt a bit bad about the free umbrella so I wrote one. I think it's hard to give a holistic review in the moment when they have to check it.
Just sharing my personal experience. There are plenty of happy experiences from others at this place, so you should decide what you want to try and see if it...
