I was to travel to Bratislava with my family and needed some place nice and calm to stay. This pension looked just like the thing I was looking for. I was going to travel in summer, but wanted to make bookings well in advance, to be on a safe side. So I wrote an email to this hotel/pension specifying the sort of room I'd need and the exact dates of our visit. Any hotel owner would be happy with this, right? Wrong. Not this one. I got a shocking reply saying something like 'oh, it's way too early to book, in our experience plans change, contact us closer to the time'. ??? No, mine don't - if I make a booking, I stick to it, or at least give a notice well in advance if I'm unable to come. But I really liked the location on the slope, so I waited for another two months and then, a month before the intended arrival, I contacted them again, with the same details. But unfortunately the response was also the same! Even a single month before the arrival, it still was too early to book in their opinion! Well, this was a deal breaker. I logged onto AirBnB, found a nice flat close to the castle, booked it and that was it. When I got onto TripAdvisor to leave my review I saw that I'm not the only one leaving one star for this place. The only difference I never even got to stay there - but having experienced what I've experienced, maybe it's better that way. I just wonder what sort of business model are these people running and how come they are still around with...

Read moreLooking for a quiet nice place to stay in Bratislava? You find nothing better than Zlata noha! I have been staying there for almost a year, every time I am in Bratislava.||||It is a small family hotel located on a hill, 15 min. by bus to the city center (20 min. to the Bratislava Castle directly from the hotel by bus no. 203).||||The view from the terrace of the hotel is unique. You can see the panorama of the city and still be in touch with nature (a nice walk to the top of the hill). ||Rooms are nice and clean, staff is very nice and friendly. It is not rare that you spend a summer evening with the householder and other quests playing the quitar, singing, talking, laughing, drinking some fine wine on the terrace, overloking the city and having a good time.||||The hotel is very children-friendly with all the facilities.||||Have a look at http://www.zlatanoha.sk/galeria-penziony-ubytovanie-bratislava-okolie/||||What else could I say? Nothing but PERFECT... I love it there, me and my boyfriend have stayed there, I may guess, 20 times since September 2011.||||My recommendation: For couples and families with children looking for a quiet place with family...
