Penzion Maxim — Hotel in Liptovský Mikuláš

I read a previous review from a ''Google user'' and found it funny. Well, now. I think that the pension changed the owner and here is my review. Since the reservation process, communication with Mrs. Lubica was very good - she was informed, polite and replied in a very short time. She called us in advance on the day of arrival to know, at what time we will come. She waited for us - no problem - she advised us local restaurants and ski slopes. We have a 4 people room - it is quite small for 4 men, but anyways, so far so good. There is fully equipped kitchen free to use, what a find as a great advantage. There is a kind of living room, with sofa, PS2 and TV. There are tables and chairs for approximately 30 people. Parking is by the pension and it is unguarded and free of charge. Nice smell of the room when we arrived surprised me very much. One downside is barking dog at the next house. Overally price/quality is really good and I recommend this...

We stayed for a couple of days in Jan. The heating didnt work properly. We had to ask the staff several times to turn the heat up. No heater in the skiroom, it was freezing there and the skis & skiboots couldnt have possibly dried there. The fridge in the room was very loud. The staff was totally useless (two 18year old girls). Snow was not shoveled off. No attempts to shovel the snow off on Saturday during the high season! The owner or the neighbor has a very loud dog. (And of course the dog is not walked and tied in the yard...). Plenty of other places in Demanova. No need at all to go to this...

We are giving 4 stars just because that the kitchen is opening just at 8:30 a.m. and closes at 8:00 p.m. So opens too late if you want to go to ski in time (the cableways starts working at 8:30 too) so you have no chance to be there in time if you want to use the kitchen and closes too early if you want to go somewhere after ski, for example Tatralandia wellness. Otherwise everything was very good, the rooms are clean...
