Disappointing Experience with Hotel Senec’s Corporate Sales Team – Not Inclusive, Not Value-Driven. Not recommended to organize company events
We approached Hotel Senec with the intention to organize a fully-funded, personally-managed respite stay for parents of children with disabilities. The goal was simple: to give these families a break, supported entirely by private individuals – myself and my husband. Despite this, the hotel’s sales department immediately categorized us under “corporate events” and treated us accordingly, with little to no understanding of the context or values behind our initiative.
The representative assigned to us was inexperienced and displayed a consistently unhelpful attitude. Her responses included phrases such as “I don’t know,” “this service is expensive,” “I have no experience with children,” and “CSR projects are not of interest to us.” These comments were not only unprofessional but fundamentally tone-deaf to the nature of the group we were trying to support.
Communication was frustrating throughout, and her approach could be described as anything but client-oriented. We encountered rigid policies and a complete lack of flexibility. For example, we were told that in order to proceed, all guests in our group (around 50 people) must dine at the hotel, at a non-negotiable rate of 27 EUR per person for the buffet – with no exception allowed even for a portion of guests who could have dined offsite.
This kind of inflexibility and unwillingness to adapt clearly signaled to us that Hotel Senec prioritizes profit over purpose. Their attitude was consistently “we don’t know” or “we can’t,” rather than looking for solutions. This is not how an inclusive, value-based hotel behaves. It became very clear that the focus here is not on meaningful hospitality, but on extracting maximum revenue from corporate clients, without any regard for social impact.
We do not recommend Hotel Senec to any organization or individual looking to create events with heart, inclusion, or purpose. This hotel is not equipped – in mindset or in service – to work with socially-conscious initiatives or communities with special needs.
EDIT 29 April 2025: Adding a reply to the hotel's reply to my first review posted above
First of all, I must address several inaccuracies directly.
Your statement that “Our communications did not include information that this was a sponsored and socially beneficial project” is a lie. It was written in my first inquiry email to the hotel, which was forwarded directly to Ms. Dancikova — black on white, it’s a fact. That it was sponsored and paid for by my husband and myself was emphasized in the phone calls multiple times, so that is another lie.
Your quote that “it was certainly not out of disinterest, quite the opposite” is another lie, because we made sure to use the exact quotes of what you said on the phone. You said, “the fact that it is socially beneficial is not our interest” — when my colleague and I heard you say it, we were completely outraged and could not believe our ears that a sales representative would use words like that.
We respect the company policies, and as you could see in our written email communication, we accepted your offer and room rates without negotiating the prices. The fact that you did not allow a part of our group to dine for lunch and dinner outside the hotel, we consider an absurd policy that other (future) clients should be aware of. If that is indeed a hotel policy, your future company clients should know that you do not allow part of their guests to dine outside. If it is not your policy, then it was another lie you told us.
I could go further and explain what you told us during a personal tour of the hotel — and how you then all of a sudden added extra rates and fees for renting the hotel garden, which you failed to mention during the tour. You failed to conduct proper due diligence on your clients — us personally — and no sweet or empty words in the previous can...

Read moreExtremely bad service, absolutely unfriendly and ignorant. We were a group. I ordered a meal. They forgot about me. Then they brought me the meal which was not cooked. Then they started to ignore me absolutely. So, I stood up and went out to a nearby hotel bar. In this moment, the waiter noticed me and ran to me to pay. I explained my problem, so she called her boss. After 2 hours I was hungry and received no compensation at all beside "not having to pay for my meal that I returned". Ignorance rules this place from waiter, through cooks to the supervisor Milos. And, with this experience, I think even beyond. At the end, they even asked for bad review :(...
