Read moreThis is a modern, pretty swanky looking, hotel on the main street running beside the lake. It's priced at the same level as the other premium hotels in the area, like Dolphin 200m away, or Marathon in the town centre, so it has to be judged in respect of that.||Firstly, the rooms are nice, high standard, decor is clean and modern, bar/restaurant food is average from a limited menu, but decent value for the price, nice balcony on most rooms, good facilities too like a spa (wellness centre), pool etc.||But, bed linens are cheap, pillows might as well not be there, restaurant is closed and locked most evenings off season but noone will tell you that. The staff don't care, have no interest in anything other than making it to next payday, so the attentive service you expect at this price point (and get elsewhere) is absent. Noone bothered to stock the minibar in my room, not that I would have used it, but it points to a general lack of care. Breakfast starts at 7:30 and earlier is not possible - so if you're there on business you'll be starting most days without it - it's a buffet of a similar quality and appearance to an all inclusive Balkan hotel, so you'll probably be quite thankful of that.||Nowhere to hang the shower head while taking a shower leads to some interesting gymnastics as you try and retreive the shower gell off the floor while not flooding the entire bathroom||Wifi codes given didn't work, and the phone app you need to connect asks for some outrageous access to your phone and files. Take a little access point or router with you, there's wired ethernet in the room, and the bathroom too for some reason||The front of the hotel is lit in blue neon, blue LED's in the fountain etc. Looks great, but we all know blue light isn't what you want when you're trying to rest, wind down or sleep.||Staff issues aren't unique, the country has 100% employment, if you fire someone they'll have another job to walk in to the next day, so discipline is impossible, so you'll find a lack of care in many places. Luckily you'll find some places where the staff love what they do, sadly this isn't one of them||Two poor tortoises in a tiny glass vivarium in reception in very poor condition. Shame, the climate there is ideal for them, they could put them outside in the garden where they'd be...
We used this hotel for business off site meeting and we stayed here 2 days and one night. It seems, that in this off season time hotel is used mainly by business for educations and meetings as we were sharing hotel with other two business meeting groups. ||Rooms are rather small but sufficient if you do not plan to stay too long. I was surprised by relative cleanness in the room and I think the quality of the room could be compared to similar hotels anywhere in the world. Nevertheless, 4 stars for this hotel is too many as this hotel could comfortably go for 3. ||Food in the restaurant is average. For larger groups or if the hotel is booked at some % they can serve all you can eat lunch and dinner. There is plenty of food but choice is limited to 3 - 4 options with description neither in Slovak, English nor German. Staff in the restaurant could be much friendlier.||Rest of the staff was nice and friendly. They were able to help us with all our requests. ||Over all, the room I got a chance to see were nice, clean and hotel has several conference rooms to host business meetings. Staff and food in the restaurant need some improvement but over all, for short term private or business meetings hotel is ok. ||HINT: buy your food and groceries on the way there as hotel is located in the area that is heavily influenced by season and outside of summer season might be a problem to find opened store within a...
Read moreThe reception ladies were super kind and helpful. Especially the one that took our check in, she was super sweet.
The location is terrible. It's in a super busy bar street with drunk people all over the place. Driving to the location is also a nightmare because of this.
The garage parking is something out of a horror film or murder scene. It is so poorly executed I really don't know what to say.
Loby/reception was ok.
Our room was absolutely terrible. The rooms are super tiny you barely have space to walk around let alone open your suitcase. Don't think it's had any renovations since the 80's. It was full of mosquitos, spiders and their webs. We had to spend up to an hour killing them all after driving there for 8 hours which was exhausting. The bed sheets were barely tucked under the mattress and the room cleaning was barely noticeable.
The breakfast looked like toddlers prepped it and we skipped it because someone said it made them sick.
Would definitely not recommend and really don't know what they base their 4 stars on or who regulates/controls this.
Hope this hotel can se their flaws and get...
