VELDES BLED B&B — Hotel in Bled

Everything was really amazing from the very beginning until the very end. At the beginning of the stay, the landowner explained in detail what to do in Bled. Then we arrived, passing beautiful interior, to our room. We insert the card, the shutters pull up automatically, and we see cosy interior - being a blend of scandinavian and rustical style. The functionality and desing of the room was amazing, it was really spacious , and had all the things that we might want to use. The personnel was amazingly polite - not only during the stay, but also after when it turned out that we left some of our personal items behind, they were very helpful and sent us the forgotten items. As for the breakfast it was so, so good. Really varied with (among others) fruits, vegatables, sweets, sausages, amazing bread, cereals, nuts, dried fruits, jogurts, 3 sort of cheeses and hams, and the whipped eggs. Moroever there was an option to ask for an omlette (tried it - it was perfect) or fried eggs. Great coffee, tea and wide selection of soft drinks. I so, so recommend this hotel - it is clear that it was established and is run with love and dedication.

What may not be clear when planning the trip to Bled, is that the town has a terrible shortage of parking spaces. Because of that the fact that Veldes B&B offers one spot for each room, is really noteworthy.

The location is somewhat distant from the city center of Bled (it is much closer to the Castle) but this is assuredly an advantage, since you can enjoy Bled easily (on foot, by bike, or even by car - but this is a challange due to lack of parking spots), while not being overcrowded by tourists. We recently returned from a 4 night stay at Veldes B&B and had a wonderful time! We had a triple panoramic room - modern bathroom, plenty of room, 3 x comfy beds and a balcony. The whole building is fabulous - modern but in keeping with the environment with wood and alpine decor. Breakfast was exceptional. Plenty of choice and a lovely welcome from Christina each morning. We found the owners Robert and Nataša to be very friendly and helpful, providing valuable advice and tips on the local area. It’s about a 20 min walk into town or the lake, which we found no problem (although there is also a bus) and walking distance to the Vintgar Gorge carpark where the shuttle picks you up. We could definitely have stayed longer! Key highlights for us were walking round Lake Bled (lots of photo stops), Ojstrica viewpoint, a morning visit to Lake Bohinj, half day in Ljubljana, Vintgar Gorge and time at the lake swimming and paddle boarding. We traveled with our family of 3 adults, and the Triple Comfort room was the perfect accommodations for our family. For once, our son didn't have to have a roll-in bed, or sofa bed, but an actual bed and we could have one-room. The Veldes B&B was in the most perfect location within 7-min walking distance to the Vintgar Gorge park & ride and away from the busy touristy section of Bled, in a quaint neighborhood, but short 5-min drive or 20-min walk into Lake Bled. The rooms were decorated so beautifully and the linens and beds were very comfortable -- so much, I asked where they purchased their linens. I loved all the details like the automatic outdoor blinds and USB ports/light switches that controlled everything from bed. The hosts were friendly, super accommodating and helpful when we had questions. They offered a good variety for breakfast and I loved the sunroom and dining area full of light.
