We stayed here for 3 nights in early June after reading a passing comment in one of the guidebooks about the Alpine Dairy Museum having some rooms available. We weren't really sure what to expect, and the low price did make me wonder how good the rooms would be, but our love of all things dairy swayed it for us in the end - and I'm extremely glad that we stayed here. This B&B is a real gem, and fantastic value at only €46 for 2 people! ||||The B&B is right opposite the Dairy Museum. The owners were away on the day we arrived, but they left the key with the lady in the museum, who let us in and showed us around, despite never having been into the B&B herself. Although lots of tourists seem to stay here, it seems that Stara Fuzina is the type of place where you could happily leave your front door unlocked the whole time.||||We stayed in room 2 at the top of the house, which was very spacious - there was a large bed (from 2 singles pushed together), a sofabed, coffee table, TV, small fridge, coffee machine and crockery/cutlery. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and equally spacious. The decor was homely with patchwork quilts and mis-matched towels. Outside, there is a very narrow balcony - not much room out there, but still an extremely pleasant place to sit and enjoy a cold beer whilst watching the sun disappear behind the mountains. If you time it right, you can watch the cows (complete with cow bells!) being taken out in the morning and coming home in the evening - they pass right underneath the balcony! ||||The staircases up to the room are quite narrow and steep, so it might be difficult to get really large pieces of luggage up to the room. We managed to get our large, wheeled suitcase up the stairs without too much problem. There are also a couple of apartments available in the same building and a fully equiped kitchen shared between the 3 B&B rooms.||||We were served breakfast on the terrace at the front of the house. It is simple affair with bread, cheese, meat, cereal, yoghurt, tea and coffee. The only downside of this is that it is right outside the front of the museum - during our first breakfast, we had to endure the antics of around 30 schoolchildren milling around us whilst they waited for the museum to open. It's best to check with the lady at the museum to see if she has a large group arriving in the morning and plan your breakfast time accordingly. ||||Renata also runs a small restaurant here and offers cheese tastings. She wasn't open whilst we stayed as the cheese "is not ready yet" - she opens in late June. What really topped off our stay here was the bottle of blueberry and honey schnapps that Renata gave us...
Čisté prostorné pokoje a skvělé snídaně.
Read moreWe arrived later than the expected 18h but the owner still welcomed us with a shot of blueberry liquor which was excellent. The room we had had a balcony, a very large double bed and a sofa. The cleanliness was very good however our shower head was a bit broken (but still worked). The breakfast was delicious and the owner even asked us what we normally like to eat and he adjusted the breakfast accordingly the next days! The only thing we didn't like was the coffee since it was instant coffee. The son's owner (Tony) was very nice and suggested a few things to do in the area. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows should be changed as they were very lumpy. The location is perfect, a few minutes walk to Lake Bohinj and there are multitude of walking paths close by. We will...
