Garni Hotel Terano — Hotel in Maribor

Good day to all. I booked this hotel on bookings and paid for the room in full. I was travelling from Ukraine and could not foresee the situation at the Hungarian border. They kept us there for a couple of hours because their data base was out of order. Because of that, I chose 00:00-1:00 arrival time on the Booking. But I didn't get any response from the hotel, wrote them a letter, called them, no answer. After 3 hours, when I already went to this hotel, I got a message that they had cancelled my check-in time. I called the hotel but they didn't pick up again. But my friends from Italy got through to them and explained the problem. The reply was that there was nothing they could do until 10pm. I then asked them to cancel the booking and refund my money as I had not received the service I had paid for. They replied that they couldn't help and hung up again. I haven't been able to get through to them since. I wrote to the booking agent and they sent a letter to the hotel about a refund. But the hotel ignored them and did not reply. It was not until the next day, 28 hours later, that they replied that there would be no refund as the booking had to be cancelled 3 days before arrival. But how could I do that if I booked on the same day I was due to check in. To which the ori answered me we had no such experience and goodbye. Because of their negligence and terrible attitude towards their guests, I had to spend the night in the car, because they had the money for the hotel and could not accommodate me. And not only that, they did not refund my money, and I paid 120€ for the room! I would not advise anyone to stay there, I would rather stay in a hotel nearby and get a room without...

This review is for the hotel with actual name Terano. Based on many favourable hotel reviews we had quite high hopes. Particularly we enjoyed:||||Warm and welcoming staff||||Spotlessly clean room and comfortable beds||||Really enjoyed dinner at hotel restaurant. Fast, solid service included.||||Nice neighbourhood with sport and dining options||||||On the other hand we must mention:||||Layout of the Comfort family room is "hostel" style(photo included)||||Look of scrambled eggs reminded me some canteen scenes/dialogues in M.A.S.H. TV series (BTW scrambled eggs only warm food at breakfast). No fresh vegetables at breakfast.||||Although located on suburb, traffic noise can be heard quite in our family room when window open||||Technically its hard to blame hotel for any significant failure but we given its solid reputation in social medias (i.e. Booking.com), we expected more. A small and cosy hotel, few minutes by foot from Pohorje Ski track. Great and affordable food with menu that on the first seems poor with food (just a few meals of each) but has great staff: The rooms are heated and we did not felt too colt or too hot. The owner is a great guy that likes to chat about everiday stuff and can tell you interesting things (he is also a ski instructor). The two of us wer`e the only persons having breakfast in the morning but we did not lack of food. The lady (think is the wife) prepared us what we asked for and in any moment did we lack out of it.We got all the instructions regarding the ski track, cable car, equipment rental.||If we go to Maribor again, we will definitely stay...
