We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Nox in late September. Although it is located a couple of kilometers away from the center of Ljubljana and there isn't a lot to do in the immediate vicinity, getting to the center was no issue as busses drove there and back every few minutes until close to midnight and for a pretty cheap price at that. Each and every hotel room is fundamentally different, which made the stay here all the more memorable, and aside from a separate egg menu to order from on top of your typical breakfast, there were also snacks like small pizzas to get during the day. The best thing for us though was this one blonde employee who was probably one of the nicest people I have met in any hotel ever. You could tell he was passionate about his work and that what he was saying wasn't your average routine speech that he gave to everyone who booked a room here. He recommended us several activities and places to check out in Ljubljana that also weren't stereotypical and was brutally honest when it came to things he thought we would not enjoy, such as museuns for example, something that we appreciated a lot. We were glad to be able to chat with him on more than one occasion and before leaving, he also told us that if we ever decide to come back here, no matter where we book our stay (meaning he wasn't insistent on us booking directly via their own website which is yet another plus), we can ask for a specific room to get since again, they are all unique in their design. We had "The Capsule" room during this stay and although it had been randomly chosen, we were happy with it. That said, it is certainly also great to be able to choose where you want to stay in advance in case you don't like surprises as much. One thing to note is that the cleaning staff is going through the rooms two times per week and if you do require cleaning inside of your room aside from those times, you will have to ask for it at the reception. We didn't need to do that, it's just something we haven't seen before. Calling the reception from our room in general was a pleasant experience though and it was nice to learn that the breakfast hours were a bit later during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). We didn't hear any noises from inside our room during the entire stay, so either we had quiet neighbors or the rooms are well built in that regard. Or both. All in all, if we do happen to return to Ljubljana at some point in the future, we will be sure to stay at Hotel...

Read moreThere are many good things about this hotel, it’s comfortable, clean, modern, many choices on the included breakfast including eggs to order, the A/C is cold, the mini bar complimentary, and on the lower side of price for this city. But the best thing is the staff!!!|I have stayed in about forty hotels in the last six months and the staff here is as helpful and friendly as any. |I arrived late at night after traveling for almost two days without sleep and about at the end of my rope. Nic checked me in, found me a sandwich, as I had not eaten, was so welcoming. I had a great first impression. |During my stay Arnes helped me a dozen times. Understand the bus lines, recommending food and things to see. Zan did the same each morning as I headed out. I hope their management understands how far this goes with foreign tourists out of their comfort zone. The rest of the staff, kitchen, housekeeping were also good I just didn’t get any names. I would definitely recommend this hotel. ||I would tell other travelers that the location is about a 20 min bus ride to city center. This is not a big problem as the number 1 bus stops right in front of the hotel and only cost 1.30 euros. This is not a property you can walk to town, in spite of Ljubljana being a...
