Mountainia Inn — Hotel in Breede Valley Local Municipality

I booked two rooms at Mountainia Inn for one night (20th October), as I was taking an 82 year old lady to Worcester hospital with very limited mobility for an early morning appointment.|I specifically requested by phone for a ground floor room for my companion.|Mr Govender confirmed this arrangement & I paid the agreed total price by eft.|The day before we were due to arrive, Mr Govender sent a message to inform me the ground floor room was no longer available as he had received a reservation through Booking.com from another customer!||It got worse after arrival.|Both rooms allocated to us were at the top of a flight of stairs. |It was very difficult & painful for my companion to ascend to her room.|Each room had two single beds, however none of the four beds had sheets - only an acrylic blanket & a comforter on top!|My room had six downlighters - only one worked.|Neither room had a bedside table & no bedside light.|The shower mat was filthy & both towels were stained & discoloured.|When I raised these issues with Mr Govender, he blamed the cleaner!|I pointed out that as he is the proprietor, the responsibility to ensure the rooms were ready for customers lay with him.||I could continue detailing other deficits, but really don't see the point.|I consider the fact Mr Govender accepted another booking for the ground floor room & moved my disabled companion to an upstairs room to be...

Sam and Rose know how to make one feel welcome. I was late in getting to the Inn and they waited patiently. Greeted me with warmth and friendliness. ||It was my second overnight stay at the B&B, the previous trip we were a couple of friends needing two bedrooms and you get the feeling of warmth and it is a safe place. The bed was extra comfortable and an extra warm blanket was very welcoming especially with the cold weather in Worcester. Clean bathroom and linen. the shared self-catering section was clean and every amenity available. ||Definitely a place I will recommend and go back to if I should need accommodation...

Unfortunately, people unknown to Worcester can be terribly misled by the online picture that Mountainia Inn portraits. Unfortunately the rooms are highly over priced both in terms of the standard and the location of the rooms available. We were booked for a few nights but eventually found alternative accommodation shortly after arrival at Mountainia Inn.
