I stayed here with my family and as a teen I can honestly say there was never a single moment I was bored. The place is packed with things to do and every day felt like a new adventure.

From the moment we stepped foot on the property we were treated like royalty and it’s all thanks to the incredible team, especially Gershwin and James.

Gershwin is the heart and soul of the entire experience. On our first day he met us outside of his usual hours on a Sunday, waiting at the door with a welcome drink in hand. His warm energy and professionalism set the tone for the whole stay. He made luxury feel effortless and always had things sorted before we even thought of them.

James was just as amazing. When our family came over for dinner he made us one of the best braais we’ve ever had. The meat was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing, and he made sure there was plenty so everyone was well fed. The food, the atmosphere and the way he ran it made that night unforgettable.

The property itself is a dream but it was the experience that truly made it world-class. We spent countless hours at the pool table laughing and bonding and it became the heartbeat of our downtime. The hot tub and pool were crystal clear, perfectly heated and great for sunset dips. The movie theatre room had insane surround sound and a cosy heating system that made every movie night feel like a proper cinema. The gym was one of the best home gyms I’ve ever used with a squat rack, full dumbbells, cardio machines, a TV, a sound bar for music and even a mini fridge to keep drinks cold. Everything was spotless and ready to go every day.

The rooms were incredible. They were huge, spotless and beautifully decorated. The beds were so comfy with pillows and bedding that made it almost impossible to get up in the morning. Every night felt like sleeping in a luxury hotel and every day the housekeeping team made them look perfect again.

Each morning we woke up to an incredible breakfast spread with yogurt, fruit, eggs, bacon, juice and coffee. Whatever we wanted, Gershwin made it happen.

The housekeeping team was nothing short of amazing. They were discreet, consistent and always friendly. They kept the place immaculate from top to bottom with our rooms refreshed daily and everything perfectly in order without us ever needing to ask.

This wasn’t just a holiday. This was an experience built on warmth, service and true luxury. Gershwin, James and the housekeeping team turned what could have been a great stay into something we’ll never forget. They weren’t just staff, they felt like part of the family by the end.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Hollywood Mansion in Camps Bay. Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain with sweeping views of the Atlantic Seaboard, this property is nothing short of breathtaking.

From the moment we arrived, it was evident that every detail had been thought of. The owner’s passion for design and décor is present in every room; each space is a visual feast of art, sculpture, and thoughtfully chosen furnishings.

Despite our late arrival, we were welcomed warmly by our private butler, who greeted us with a bottle of champagne and a delicious roast chicken dinner prepared in advance. Thanks to Gabby’s careful planning, every request we had made before arrival was ready and waiting. That level of personalized service set the tone for our stay.

Although I was tired from travel, the mansion’s energy was invigorating. I couldn’t resist exploring. Each bedroom is a sanctuary, featuring plush beds, high-end linens, and luxurious en-suite bathrooms complete with rain showers, premium toiletries, robes, and slippers. Choosing a favorite room was nearly impossible. Each had its own charm, with stunning mountain or ocean views and ambient lighting to match any mood.

Breakfast each morning was a highlight of fresh juice, real coffee, and beautifully prepared dishes, always served with a smile by Gershwin, whose warmth made us feel truly at home. He went above and beyond, offering local tips and helping us plan our daily activities with ease.

One particularly special day included a gorgeous high tea with visiting friends and family, followed by a traditional braai that made for unforgettable memories.

Outdoors, the mansion continues to impress. Whether lounging by the heated pool, soaking in the hot tub, or relaxing in the serene garden with the gentle sounds of the mountain creek in the background, every corner is designed for comfort, peace, and indulgence.

There’s no such thing as boredom at the Mansion. With a pool table, a welcoming bar area, a private cinema, and even a library, every moment invites connection or quiet joy. And if you really want to unwind, spa treatments can be arranged to complete the feeling of absolute escape. There is also a well equipped gym for those that wish to stay active.

This place isn’t just a getaway. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience I believe everyone should gift themselves. Add it to your bucket list, because life really is too short to leave dreams unlived.

I carry the memories with me, and I hope to return one day. Until then, my heart is full.

We recently stayed at Hollywood Mansion during our wedding week and couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to spend the days leading up to the big day. The villa is stunning—spacious, beautifully designed, and ideal for a group getaway or special celebration.

From the moment we booked, the communication with Gaby was exceptional. She was incredibly helpful, responsive, and warm before, during, and even after our stay. Gaby is truly wonderful and made the entire process seamless and stress-free.

The location in Camps Bay is perfect, with breathtaking views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. Watching the sunsets from the villa was truly unforgettable, and the scenery alone made the stay feel magical.

The amenities are world-class, including a gorgeous pool, spa features, jacuzzi, pool table and a fantastic braai area, perfect for outdoor dining and enjoying the Cape Town weather.
