Just had a week long stay at The Hub. Very nice place, cosy and neat. They have power during load shedding, with strong WiFi signal to my room. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star rating is because my room smelled a bit musty, I don't know if it's the carpets or what it is but the moment I walked in it assaulted my senses. The next day when I came back I see the staff left the fan on and the windows open, so they were probably trying to get rid of the smell. The smell gradually got better as the week went by, but I think a scented powder that you vacuum up should do the trick. As for breakfast, it was tasty and sufficient. I don't know what people are complaining about in the other reviews, it's complimentary and there are plenty of choices available. Bear in mind it's a 3 star establishment, not a 3 Michelin Star restaurant. Will definitely return, staff was friendly and helpful, couple of noisy guests but that's the not the guest house's fault. I'm sure they would've moved me to a different room had I asked.

The location is perfect and is in a quiet neighborhood. Easy to check in, and the staff are very accomodating. I had an early checkin and within 15 minutes everything was ready. They offer free breakfast in the mornings. They only had beef/pork sausages for the two days i was there. No chicken sausage was offered . That bring said, the breakfast was very good. The room was fine, but they did not have a smart tv in the room, i mean at this day and age?. There are no plugs by the side of the bed, well atvleast in the room i was in. Consider carrying an extension or power bank if you like charging your phone while in bed. The iron and ironing board you need to collect at reception. The ironing board is very small and is not considerate for people with back problems or disabled people. Overall the stay was good and i would recommend it to anyone.

Mattress, linen and pillows worn out. Tv remote was filthy and broken, carpets in room felt sticky underfoot. Shower blocked with scum. In the morning staff were loud and noisy on arrival. Only one set of towels in room, had to ask for a second. We defintiely got the impression that management is absent, placr feels neglected. No attention to detail. Staff were friendly though. Definitely won't stay here again. Surprised it's received such good ratings, maybe it was just our room, room no.1.

We recently spent 2 nights at The Hub Boutique Hotel, and it was VERY disappointing. My husband and I were booked in through work but when we looked up the place via their web site we were excited as it looked wonderful. We were very mistaken.

Lets start with our room. There was only one small bath towel when we arrived, no remote or hand towel. We had to request these. No soaps or shampoos of any kind. My husbands side of the bed was caving in and the shower was either hot or cold. You battled to get a decent temperature.

We had been booked in with breakfast included. Well this was probably the biggest disappointment of all. We ordered bacon, eggs, tomato and pork sausage. My scrambled eggs had been done in the MICROWAVE and were so dry I couldn't eat them, our bacon was practically raw and pale so couldn't eat that either. Mine had almost no flesh on it and was basically all fat. The pork sausage wasn't cooked properly and had probably been chucked in the microwave as well - so we couldn't eat that. And well the tomato had literally been sliced and placed on the plate. The best part of our breakfast was the toast, which we made ourselves. Needless to say we left there hungry and didn't even attempt to have the breakfast the next day.

Very disappointing stay and...
