Fa'Trez Guest House & Spa — Hotel in Gauteng

We booked this guest house in Faerie Glen for a quiet weekend to relax, swim, and unwind as a family. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

There were ongoing renovations during our stay, which we were not informed about beforehand. The dining area was dusty, there was cement in the water, and we were constantly disturbed by loud banging and tile grinding—even during breakfast. This was especially difficult for our 3-year-old son who is very sensitive to noise.

The pool was dirty and clearly not maintained, and the photos on Booking.com appear outdated compared to the current state of the property. When we raised our concerns, the owner dismissed them, saying that “others didn’t have a problem,” which we felt was very unprofessional.

We booked this place to rest and enjoy some peace, but unfortunately we left more stressed than when we arrived. We would not recommend this guest house until renovations are completed and better care is taken for...

Had a terrible experience during December 2021 with a new team of therapists in their Spa. The manager did not seem to inform the new team of therapists of the treatments that we booked. We received incomplete treatments, treatments that took about an hour and a half too long (we were three friends and one ended up canceling all her other treatments as her nail soak off took so long), and they did not have the correct equipment to do the treatments.
