This is our second time here and I will only consider this place because of the food BUT the waiter Norman was extremely rude he leans against chairs when taking your order. When we asked when our food will be ready he just walked away and said over his shoulder it’s coming. The pizza we ordered was cold they didn’t have pretzel buns so they just gave us a normal burger bun without consulting us. If we knew they didn’t have any pretzel buns we would’ve changed the order. I will only recommend this place for the food, the service is horrible. If you get what you ordered though. I would like to add, my mother didn’t finish her food at the restaurant and took a takeaway home. Once she ate the rest of her food for dinner she found pieces of plastic inside. Thirst is never seeing us again and will not recommend this place. Our first visit was amazing our second visit...
Read moreTerrible experience. Called about 12pm today to book a table for 2 at 6pm. Gave the afrikaans speaking guy my name and he confirmed. Upon arrival we werent met at the door by anyone. No one greeted us. After the 3rd waiter walked passed we greeted him and he greeted back and walked off. We then walked to one of the guys who was busy working on the computer, asked him for our table as we have a booking. He couldnt find our booking and called the manager. The manager then told us that they are full and we would have to wait a while. I then asked what about our booking? He then went and looked again in the book and there was no booking made for us. He then dissapeared and we decided to leave. I used to be a weekly regular but will never ever go back again. Horrible service for a place with great food. 0/5...
Read moreThirst @ 28° East was completely unknown to me, having lived in the East for most of my life. It definitely warrants a return visit.
Thirst is ideal for any occasion from casual family dinners, right through to a night out with the boys. Bookings are recommended as Thirst is rather popular, especially on night that feature live music. To accommodate all their different customers, Thirst is roughly divided into two main floors, subdivided to accommodate smokers.
Thirst has a well rounded, reasonably priced menu and boasts really generous portions. Drinks on offer range from craft beer to regular ciders, all also fairly priced compared to most dining establishments.
I would not recommend children under the age of three on nights with live music, but maintain that Thirst is definitely a family...
