Went for a birthday celebration for a party of 8 and turned out to be a complete nightmare.

We had the worst experience of our lifetime on a birthday or perhaps ever. The birthday man got drunk, thrown out, and HANDCUFFED by the SECURITY HIRED BY FOUR SEASONS ( NOT the POLICE), by the REQUEST OF THE MANAGEMENT of the hotel. A friend who is sober and trying to resolve the issue also got HANDCUFFED and thrown to a back of a security car, and they were under the instruction by the senior management to not let us leave, because they were trying to make us compensate for the other guests who were upset about the drunk behaviours at the restaurant.

A really drunk friend of us, threw a succulent plant on the floor (not the pot, just the plant itself), and broke 2 -3 glasses unintentionally, and fell on the floor. We were truly sorry about the disturbance caused to other guests, so when the hotel ask us to leave the restaurant minutes after the crazy behaviour began, we obliged and paid for the bill, and left a R800 tip for the damaged glasses and plant.

We ordered a lot of alcohol in a short period of time (only 4 people were really drinking. Two ladies did not even ask for wine glasses), no where in between, the hotel tried to slow down the pace, they just brought bottles after bottles. The server didn't even bother to clean the table. It was scattered with whiskey glasses and cocktail glasses that are long finished. We were sitting at the terrace, but the waiter didn't bother to bring us any candle to the table after the night went completely dark for 3 hours. He left us pretty much unattended other than brining us continuous flow of alcohol.

Yes, people at the party were drinking irresponsibly, but so was the hotel, who has license to SELL alcohol.

If you serve alcohol like that, how can you expect people to behave soberly. After the security thrown the birthday man out of the gate of FS, they did not stop there, that's when they handcuffed him, and pressed him towards the back of the security car. The man was struggling as being forced out of hotel and was verbally abusive under the influence of alcohol, but no where close to being dangerous or attacktive. The friend who actually broke the glasses and threw plant on the floor already long left the scene. When we questioned the security that they have no authority nor right to do that, we were told that the management was giving the order, and they needed to wait for the senior management before he could let us go, and when a friend tried to reason, this was when our second friend got handcuffed

The general manager called the police to come and trying to LAY A CHARGE on us for disturbing the other guests. When the police arrived, they seemed to be under the impression that someone has got into a fight, when everything was explained to them, they actually seemed quite confused on what the hotel actually wanted from them.

We have always had incredible experiences with FS worldwide, including last week at FS Seychelles, being extremely attentive, warm and excellent in every single aspect, but unfortunately to say that the experience at FS Westcliff is the...

Take note the hotel is wonderful but don't go to its restaurant. We booked into a famous 5 star hotel, the Westcliff. This was for my 13 year wedding anniversary. I was first going to book at the Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa but they only open 1st of May 2021. I called Flames restaurant to book for 19:30 on the 2th of February 2021 and explained that its a special occasion and would like a very nice table with a view. I made this booking in advance to secure a good table. I expected a five star restaurant in line with the hotel. From the start when we arrived at the front desk of Flames there was no one there. When a lady eventually came with no smile on her face and looking like she hated being there. That already made us feel unwelcome. I told her we made a booking under my name for 19:30. She then walked us through the restaurant offering us some tables inside where I might add looks like a 3 star restaurant. I asked her did they not reserve me a table with a view like I asked when I booked? she knew nothing of it. there was no good table available so she took us upstairs to the view restaurant but all tables where taken except for one next to the kitchen. We eventually settled for a table that opened up outside right by the entrance of the restaurant leading to the inside tables. The woman was not apologetic at all. The table was not level and was moving from one side to the other. I had to ask someone to fix it and they then put paper under the one foot to stop it from rocking. It felt like I was sitting at Mugg and Bean but they give better service. Our starters were cold, the one starter was over cooked and rubbery we sent it back. We lost our appetite. I was so disappointed and sad really. I needed this day to be perfect. Then I have to say, you charge "Marble” restaurant and "500" restaurant prices? why? Send your restaurant manager to these first class restaurants to learn what a good restaurant is. The ambiance, the quality of service, the great food, everything that Flames restaurant lacks. I will never be back. Its a pity the Saxon was closed, I should have rather spent a little extra and flown to Cape Grace in Cape Town which is wonderful. Westcliff hotel, Spa and the rooms and the hotel staff were wonderful, but its the restaurant that just made the stay leave a negative taste in my mouth. There you have my review. When I spend good money I expect the same...

I have been to many 3, 4 and 5 star hotels. This is at best a 3 star experience. The food is not up to standard, as in you will get served salad without the salad dressing, while your steak/fish is served charred instead of medium rare all the while having barely any flavor.

The hotel rooms, which are very dull for their price range, not to mention the amount of thievery we experience at our event was disappointing. I'm talking two stolen phones and cash from a purse. This was absolutely not on par with the 5 star experience that one should supposedly be receiving at this venue.

Normally you would think that catering to so many customers and hosting so many events would enable them to get accustomed or learn how how certain things should be done and presented. How can you claim to be able to cater and serve for large event every weekend and yet didn't not have enough on members ofstaff available for our event. Clearly something went deeply wrong which is funny since you charged almost double the amount of drinks that where actually ordered by the guests attended the event. It's how some other small things that should go noticed....

Their international counterparts are much better and atleast know how to trim the flower arrangements properly to prevent them from being burnt by candlelight. The flower arrangements should not be oversized and flowers should be arranged with care and not haphazardly cut with stems of drastic nonsensical lengths.

Table arrangements should also allow you to see guests from the other end of an over stylized table.

The tables provided clearly do not have enough seating space for its compliment of people (better squash em in). The table legs also got in the way of people who where left sitting at the corners of said tables, and they where left feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

Please also be aware that their party venues aren't big enough to accommodate many guests and some will be seated on tables outside of the venue/hall in the corridor (aka the exclusion zone), the entire party hall also gets really hot (I am not kidding), while the air conditioning they have cannot properly accommodate the venue so don't use much makeup or excessive clothing.

This specific 4 seasons has a great view, which is enjoyable to look at and the staff are friendly but...
