Hurlingham House Guest House — Hotel in Gauteng

Mark and Janet had just taken over when we arrived(we had booked with the previous owner) and they have a very positive attitude towards the future success of the property and could not have been more helpful. They stored two suitcases for us while we took a 12 day safari to Botswana and Vic. Falls. The rooms are very comfortable with little private patios and the breakfasts produced by Jocelyn are good. ||A little complaint. - trying to work the TV was impossible without assistance and, on our return, it was too late before we found out it had been left on settings which we could not work out!||The guest house is very close to SandtonGauteng and Mark organised a private taxi to drop four of us off for a meal one evening and then return us to the guest house. In the heart of the pumping metropolis of Gauteng, there is a place you can come, relax in a wonderful garden with many birds and a large pool and instantly feel welcome. Mark and Janet just recently took over the guesthouse and are busy to make this perfect place a little heaven for their guests. The rooms are without a doubt of highest standards, very good mattresses, all amnesties, large bathrooms, private patios and so on. The breakfast is great and we have learnt that you do not have to stay in an anonymous hotel when visiting Johannesburg. By the way, the guesthouse is located in a very quite residential suburb of Sandton, the vibrant business and lifestyle centre of Gauteng and close to a variety of great shops and restaurants. I was just passing through Johannesburg for an evening and needed a place to stay for a good price. A local friend of mine recommended this place and she was totally right!||||I arrived about 6PM and the host - Mark - greeted me and gave me a quick tour. I was tired and just wanted to crash out. He helped me order food while I showered and freshened up.
