Monarchy Guest House — Hotel in Gauteng

This review is actually for Central Lodge at the Houghton area of the city to which I was given a courtesy car ride by the nice manager of this hotel where I had my initial booking. And yes, somehow I can't find the listing on Tripadvisor for Central Lodge where I actually stayed. So, the review for it is as follows.||With Johannesburg being "generally not touristy" (in quite a contrast to Cape Town which was my next stop after here), I would just say that I was quite satisfied having stayed at this place with its own fairly spacious compound secured by a solid gate and which is also located in a quiet & non-rowdy area of the city. And yes, to make it a pretty comfortable stay are some good amenities in my room the best of which being a "pretty-good-sized" bed (and a flat-screen with some good channels & an ensuite). And although no food at the place itself, just a short walk away after going around to the back are Burger King & Sasol gas station (where there's a "pretty good" selection of breakfast items in the morning).||And as for the "sightseeing convenience", just within a short 10-to-15-minute taxi ride is the Constitution Hill Human Rights Precinct (the city's "premier site" I would say with a "historic prison" once stayed by such prominent figures as Gandhi & Mandela and also with a nice rampart to go up for some nice "aerial views" of the city), and where also in the same area as that great site is the big "transportation hub" of the city which is Park Station (from which I took the Gautrain to Pretoria for a day trip one day and also took the bus to Cape Town another day after my stay...

I was never impressed at all I booked at Royal crown but ended up checking in at this lodge I was told its the same branch.. My partner and I never slept at all rats/mice were all over our food all night. The room never even had a car nor table for us to put our things. Then in the morning the worst my car was stracthed. I called none of the staff assisted not even the manager instead I was told lost or damaged iterms are my responsibility 🙄like realy should I wake up at night check if my car is safe. I had to explain myself to everyone still no one even cared to say...

Ive been their ustomer for a longtime as i travel a lot to johannesburg..i ve arrived tyesfay intended to stay for a full week and leave tuesday but i had to cancel my stay with them because of the ill treatment i get from their staff, will never stay with them again anymore will find myself an alternative stay when im in joburg .will never set a foot in that...
