I would give 0 stars if I could. I booked and prepaid for one of the apartments (no refund, no cancellation policy), but when I arrived (at night, in winter) there was already someone occupying the apartment. I was left standing on the street in the cold for 10 minutes while trying to get in touch with Graham. Eventually he answered his phone. After hanging up, I spent another 10 minutes waiting for something to happen. I had nearly given up, when his mother came out of the house to "deal" with me. As it turns out, Graham shares the lockbox codes for all of the apartments when he texts his guests, and leaves it up to them to figure out which apartment is theirs. So naturally someone else had decided to take the apartment I had booked instead of their own. I was furious and upset, and only after a few minutes of back and forth did Graham's mother offer an apology. She seemed surprised that such a thing would happen and swore that it had never happened before, as if implying that it was not their fault. I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism in my 12 years of travelling and staying in various types of accommodation. Only after I name-dropped a higher up in the famous booking agency I used, did she offer to reimburse me for the room. I was prepared to go through the official complaints channel with the agency, but Graham/mother cancelled the booking and refunded the money before I had the chance. I am grateful for that, even as I am sure they did it with such expediency to avoid a mark on their record. I had to drive back to Rheenendal late at night to spend the night with a friend of a friend whom I had only met that day. Reader beware: this property is managed by a child. When I asked Graham's mother why she was out in the cold instead of him, dealing with me, her reply was that he had already gone back to sleep. It was 8:30 PM. I rest my case.

He sent us clear directions, together with a short and very helpful video to assist our arrival and check in. Our checkin was such a pleasure! And the apartment was fantastic: spotlessly clean, modern and comfortable. We stayed in Studio 3, Miguel classic. This is a lovely corner unit, with a balcony protected from the wind. The large screen smartTV was a pleasure to find in the unit. The optional extras (beverages) available to purchase in the fridge was another great touch. The protected area, on top of the Knysna Heads, where the apartments are located, is exceptionally scenic, green and tranquil - birdsong with little to no traffic or other intrusive sounds. The checkin process was very smooth and the host allowed us to checkin earlier than the official time as they room was already clean and ready. The location in terms of the area was nice, a short drive from the main "center" of Knysna. Everything you read in the booking was as you would expect. There are other rooms/apartments on the property and you can hear people walking around and moving furniture. You dont need to be particularly noisy to be able to hear so it is most likely due to the structure of the property. Not much can be done unless you bring earplugs with you or are lucky that no one is staying in the room above you while you are there. Internet was also not great.
