Pizaevino offers not only a stunning view of the mountains but also an exceptional dining experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by a friendly and attentive staff. Our waiter, Brandon Ross, truly made our visit unforgettable. He was incredibly welcoming, radiating positivity throughout the evening, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. His attentiveness, combined with his cheerful and courteous nature, made us feel genuinely cared for.

The star of the evening was the pizza. I can confidently say it was the best pizza I’ve had in South Africa. Despite the restaurant being part of a larger chain, the quality of the ingredients and the food was truly impressive—surpassing expectations with its freshness and flavor.

I enjoyed the experience so much that I returned the following evening to treat myself once again to the delicious pizzas and top-tier service.

We have lived in Knysna for 20 years and love coming to this restaurant. But our experience with the Knysna manageress last night was very sad. I asked a waiter about the possibility of having some Italian music played. He went and asked the manageress. She ignored the request. When she came to ask us if the meal was ok I asked her about the music - her response was very non chalante and she told us that they had changed the playlist to 80's music. She walked away. I didnt like her attitude - and so I approached her and asked her why she could not change the play list. She then very smuggly told me that the decision to play 80's music was a National decision and that they would get into trouble if they were caught playing Italian music. She again walked away. I was gob smacked at her indifferent attitude. So I called her back and mentioned that she could have explained that in the first place and that she could have at least apologised for the confusion. Our visit was greatly disappointing with terrible food and service. The setting is beautiful but that was the only good part of our visit at this restaurant on the Knysna Heads. The service was slow with our waitress taking over 20 minutes to bring our drinks. She wasn’t friendly or attentive. Young and Shy and inexperienced. The restaurant was poorly prepared for peak season. When we complained about our food then she acted very disinterested and didn’t tell the kitchen or call the manager for us. She just said “the kitchen is busy.”

We ordered the Lamb Risotto (R168) and it was hard and underdone. We expected more from an “Italian” restaurant. It tasted like it was frozen then boiled and lacked flavour let alone being hard to eat and extremely unpleasant. We wanted to send it back but the waitress was no where in site. Our son got the kids burger which was dry. No tomato sauce was offered. The pizzas around us looked good and if that’s all you have that is good then stick to pizza!!!
