I spent two nights at Lagoona Inn as a SA National Tourist Guide with 22 Austrian tourists. Seeing as none complained, I must assume they were satisfied. I returned with my family to spend two weeks there in December. We stayed in a family suite which was very spacious and comfortable with the pool outside our front door. The decor/fittings in the rooms are basic and dated but very clean and perfectly maintained with the wooden window shutterings giving a mediterranean feel. Upstairs rooms have lagoon views. Location is good, very near the Eastern heads lookout and leisure Isle and near enough to the waterfront. The pool is small but pristinely clean. Enjoying a beer sitting on the step on a hot day is highly recommended. The best thing about Lagoona Inn is its affordability/value for money. Being owner managed by Allison and Gunther assures excellent service and the breakfast serving staff are very courteos. Gunther's self-made breakfasts with his Austrian apple and other fruit fritters with fruit salad, lots of yogurt and generous portions and nice fresh strong coffeesare were always excellently tasty and enjoyable. What we really enjoyed probably the most is Allison and Gunther's friendly, interesting and entertaining company especially Gunther's understated but wonderful sense of humour. All in all I would strongly recomment Lagoona Inn to families, business people and especially tourist groups, particularly those seeking outstanding value for money...
Read moreI had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. It feels like a place that’s well past its prime—perhaps once charming, but now faded and neglected. As a vegetarian, I was served an unseasoned pumpkin dish filled with items already available at the buffet, alongside other vegetables that were not only completely unseasoned but also undercooked—even the beans. There were no vegetarian sauces, and when I requested information about the available sauces, I was simply told they were ‘for the meat,’ without any explanation of what the sauces actually were. Despite repeating my question, I was left in the dark. Breakfast was equally frustrating; the only cheese available was placed directly on pork, making it inaccessible. When I asked if some could be served separately, the staff initially agreed, but the manager started shouting that they were out. The best part of our stay was being able to leave after two days. I would not recommend this hotel to vegetarians or anyone seeking a flexible, accommodating...
Read moreI am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Lagoona Inn in Knysna. As someone who follows specific dietary restrictions for religious reasons, I informed the chef that I do not eat pork or beef. Shockingly, the chef responded with complete disregard, saying that he did not care about my needs. This kind of response is not only unprofessional but also incredibly disrespectful.||As a guest, I expected better understanding and accommodation, especially at a hospitality establishment. If you have dietary requirements or religious considerations, I would advise thinking twice before staying at Lagoona Inn. Their lack of respect and care for individual needs is truly...
