Point Lodge — Hotel in George

Me and my girlfriend spent 4 great days at Point Lodge. |From the start Ryk and the small staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Unlike most guests we didnt have a car, so it was a little more challenging to do the activities we wanted to do in the surrounding area. But thanks to Ryk and the taxidriver/tourguide Johnny everything worked smoothly!||Every evening we walked the 2,5kilometers along the water into town for dinner. If you prefer you can take a taxi or hire bikes in knysna, but we enjoyed the walks.||The lodge itself is quaint. A bit dated, but kept very neat and clean. The garden is terrific, with big palmtrees surrounding a little pool. Both our room and the garden/pool-area had a beautiful view of the bay. ||Breakfast was delicious. Not the huge selection you might get at a big hotel, but what was there was great quality and included freshly cooked eggs any way you like them, along with bacon, sausage and tomato.||Ryk will truly do everythong in his power to make sure you have a great stay. Our bus didnt leave knysna until 1:45am, a good 15 hours after our checkout time. Not only did they let us stay by the pool and the lobby area all day and night. Without us even asking for it, they made a bedroom and bathroom available for us free of charge until 1am!||If you dont mind being 2,5km from knysna I would highly recommend staying here!|Ryk is a superstar, and if you need a driver/tourguide, ask if Johnny is...

The location of Point Lodge is gorgeous as it looks over the lagoon down to the Heads of Knysna. RYK, the owner, is the perfect host, ably backed up by James and staff members, Virginia & Lizzie.|This is a guest house that knows from well trodden experience how to tick all the boxes sought by travellers. Excellent breakfasts to start the day with RYK & James being discretely available to provide tips on where to go in the area, especially on the good restaurants. |The clean pool and sunbathing area is hard to beat by giving its guests the right space and very comfortable sun loungers.|One nice touch is the Honesty Bar where you can set your watch that by no later than 4.30pm RYK will have a fresh lemon, knife & ice bucket laid out in readiness for your first G&T!|In the many times we have stayed at Point Lodge it is reassuring to know that the fellow guests will be people interesting to meet & chat, all making for a very pleasurable experience.|Scott &...

My family arrived and was given the incorrect Room upon arrival. We booked a particular and received a room half the size , the room accommodated 3 ppl and we were a family of 4. We had arrived late in the evening and exhausted. The bathroom was not clean, shower head rusted , spiders and cobwebs everywhere. It was extremely uncomfortable. We checked out in the morning and moved to a better, cleaner and more spacious accommodation. Our toiletry case was completely broken, unfortunately we only saw this after checkout. Worst experience I have ever had. We were charged the same amount for a smaller room. Disgraceful. On a positive note , the manager of the place was hospital , the owner however was not.
