Spent 2 nights at this hotel ( not sure where the country estate comes from). Rooms not bad in size, plus is the big bathroom with walk in shower and l'Occitane bath accessories which is different from other hotels. Nice location but away from the Knysna waterfront. Quiet location and nice gardens with 2 medium sized pools and small play area. They have padel courts but this must be booked through another company for hire of court and equipment.

Downs: Very limited breakfast, buffet style with small selection of scrambled , tomatoes, hash browns NO halal options which is a big negative. Most of the other hotels around here have this and a area where they provide omelettes At this hotel you have to pay extra for an omelette, Really?? If you are looking for a halaal friendly hotel then rather look elsewhere as what you pay is nice for hotel and room but not for food We usually stay at Fancourt and this place is far from that in terms of experience.

Was worth trying it out but...

From arrival has a special feel, great open car park plenty of space, actually parked nearby to our accommodation.. Reception gave a lovely welcome with such easy check inn and a welcome chat with a glass of champagne.. The room was perfect absolutely modern and luxurious overlooking a beautiful worked on garden and 1 of 2 pools . We were number 1 bungalow close to main building and restaurant,, food was very good and the wine selection was excellent.. The bar was often visited by myself in the evening and a good chat was always had with francois about the wine in the different areas,, many thanks for your time.. The staff working the restaurant in morning and evening worked tirelessly to help make our visit a very comfortable and pleasant stay, under some stressful times due to the power issues currently in South Africa.. may i say you nailed it,,and we really appreciate your efforts and commitment throughout.

Many thanks to all Mike &...

The Knysna Hollows suffered damage during th Knysna Fires, and it has been completely renovated. It is tastefully redecorated with a total of 44 double rooms with some slightly bigger than others. Some rooms have sleeper couches so children can also sleep in the rooms. There are units with connecting doors for bigger families or groups. The rooms are situation around a garden with two swimming pools.

Each room is equipped with an Espresso machine, and a His-and-Her style en suite bathroom. Because the dining hall is separate from the main rooms, they have provided umbrellas for the short walk through the beautiful gardens.

The dining hall is open from 7 am to 10pm and they serve a hot (R80) and cold (R100) breakfast buffet.

The staff was very friendly and the scenery is peaceful. It's a very good choice if you want to visit Knysna and prefer to stay just...

A perfect place from which to explore the natural beauty of the area. Thoughtfully laid out in a setting of understated luxury. The staff are beyond helpful. Walking through the immaculate gardens we struck up a conversation with one of the gardeners. He was passionately interested in our experience in his country, we had an insightful conversation about some of the challenges and positive aspects his people face day to day. This sort of interaction made our stay much richer, the culture pervades throughout the establishment.
