Booked at the resort in January 2022 for check inn January 2023 exactly, from the 4th January 2023 up until the 8th January then i have asked them if there is anyway that i could extend the stay with extra 3 days , they said its fully bokked which is understandable however when I checked the website there was availability so i made another booking, when I 1st booked I have asked them if we could get a chalet that is beter access to the pool ...they have advised that they will allocate a chalet for me ...upon checking inn we have been allocated no60 which is a distance from the pool again i have asked and showed my proof with regards to being allocated closer to the pools ....the lady said that there is no chalets closer however the best she can do is move us to no84 which was ok ...the Chalet was ok neat and tidy the pillows is the worse however we stayed until the 8th ...keep in mind when I asked to be moved closer or extend the stay there was nothing since the 4th up until the 9th there was chalet empty ....on the 8th I went down to the office as we need to move to another chalet as I had to make a 2nd booking spoke to the manager who was very helpful and friendly i explained to her how upset I was she then allocated no36 which is at the pools , beautiful chalet , I was excited, neat and tidy as always...get to the main bedroom the mattress 😢 it's old basically better to sleep on the floor its done i can't evens explain there is no foam nothing so I choose to sleep on the couch than on the bed , the weather is scorching here in Montagu just to find that the A/C setting only allows 24c which is not helpful at all ....I used to love Montagu Springs and would always recommend this place but the Standard has dropped enormously....as per the rules no loud music, boom boxes is allowed as guests come to relax and enjoy as per their rules every 2nd chalet basically has been playing loud music until the morning hours....please don't be fooled by the beautiful pictures showed on their website by the lights of the pool ...the heated pool has no lights the jacuzzi is dirty along with the pool not sure if the pool gets cleaned ....I have been looking forward spending my holidays here at Montagu will not be...

When we got there at 15h02, the unit was not ready despite check-in being from 3pm on. We had to hover around the resort and wait for them to call us when the unit was ready. this took about 30min.||We stayed in the Golden Terrace, unit 101. Upon entering you could see the cleaning was one in a rush. The place smelled like smoke, as if a fire was just put out in the fireplace.||The bedside units in the main bedroom is falling apart because of the rotten and decaying wood. When I tried to moved it closer to the bed because i have a toddler, it literally crumbled at the bottom. The bathroom tiles are so slippery when wet but there is no bathroom mat in the unit. The shower leaks and wets the whole floor even if you close the door. I had requested a unit with a free standing shower, no bath because we had a pensioner who has trouble getting in and out of the bath, yet she almost fell when getting out of the shower EVERTYIME she used it. Eventually on the last day she made use of the basin instead.||I shower once during ur 4 day stay and used the basin every other day because I almost slipped and fell in the shower myself.||We usually booked the4 1bedroom Josmont Heights because we came as a couple. This was our first time in the Golden Terraces and i was absolutley horrendous. ||I made the selection based off the video of the Golden Terrace on the website and I must say, FALSE ADVERTISING.||In addition to all of the this, the secondary bedroom's one mattress was so lumpy and uncomfortable, the person who slept there complained of back pain on Friday morning. The top half was low and the bottom half elevated. ||The pools are not warm enough to swim in the evenings, apparently because of a defective pump, this was not disclosed prior to our stay, had it been, I would not have gone because we all know people come for the warm weather and water. ||We have been visiting every year since from 2015 to 2019, sometimes twice year, and then due to covid, pregnancy and other things have not been able to return until now. I was grossly disappointed because this used to be the one thing in looked forward to every year.||You have lots of work to do to restore this place to its...

We are a family of 3 that checked in to Montagu Springs on Friday, 12 November 2021 into the "large plettenberg" chalet (which seemed very small compared to the rest of the large plettenbergs around our chalet).

We were very disappointed with our stay at Montagu. There were MANY aspects in the chalet that were not working or dangerous.

Firstly, the chalet was very dusty, had spider webs in all the rooms. The couch was very dusty and not comfortable.

Secondly, the stove was not working. This was really an off-putting feeling as we could not cook food and had to go over to Avalon and spend more money to buy food for breakfast and lunch. We were only able to braai.

Thirdly, the kettle wasn't working properly at the switch, we literally had to keep the switch in place and wait for the kettle to boil.

Fourthly, the water heater unit in the bathroom technically should not be installed in a household or in an enclosed environment but rather outside as stated on the unit itself. When opening the warm water tap for washing hands or to shower, the unit gave off a gas smell. This we found extremely dangerous especially having a two and a half year old child with. We did not use the shower as we were fearful because of the gas smell that become more pungent and the pipes turning red (glowing red) and were very hot.

There were slugs coming out of the drain in the bathroom which was an awful sight.

The worst part of the visit was while we were settling in, we were brought a notice to settle our payment. This was very disheartening as we settled the payment already.

We as a family think that the amount we paid per night was definitely not worth it. Honestly, we would not recommend this awful experience we had gone through to anyone.

Unhappy,...

What a wonderful experience we had @Montagu springs. It was quiet and relaxing. The views are magnificent. The Park, pools and hot springs were amazing and it's R20 for a all day pass which is totally worth it. All the residents are very friendly as well as the staff who are always willing an ready to help. Any problems we had they were on the job immediately. Our car broke down an the securities (lionel and Joseph) were quick to help an drive us around to find parts, Lionel got into his personal car to assist. The mechanic melzaine replaced the parts with ease an had our car running almost immediately. I highly recommend booking here. It was a 3 hour drive to there an it was so worth it. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you @Montagu Springs XOXO Adonis Family from Plettenberg chalet 68.

Everything you need is available. Free access to the pools.. the place is well run and clean. Quick check in and out. A cafe on site where you can buy q variety of meals.. very busy, a perfect cuppachino was had. The bar is well stocked. Cocktails available. Very friendly staff, everyone greets and ask you how you doing. Surrounded by beautiful scenery. Thanks again. A wonderful duty manager called Winston.

The drive from cape town being approximately 2 hours and with road works on the way to Worcester (as of December 2018) the drive can become even longer. Which, if you do not enjoy long periods of time in a vehicle can be uncomfortable. Nice if you have children but not really exciting for adults. There are various hot and cold pools available, however not the natural kind and rather public pool style. There are lots of division with regards to different housing options at Montagu.
