We checked into Soho on the 29th of Oct for 3 nights β I booked a Ground floor Superior Luxury family room. WELL there was nothing superior luxury about this room (ROOM 110)β¦..it looked more like a Standard entry level roomβ¦.we clearly booked this room type because we have kidsβ¦we could barely move in the room with the pram and kidsβ¦..The bed looked like someone had been jumping on itβ¦the dresser had no chairβ¦the room was simply untidy. I refused to stay in this room especially that my kids were not well and that the room was miserably small. I complained and was told the duty manager would contact meβ¦I wait and waited until I had to CALL AGAIN. Only then did the duty manager come and changed our room. He moved us to Room 228 and said to my husband and I that this room if much better and is one lower from a suitβ¦.this was a joke but we said nothing as it was bigger than Room 110 so we just took it. So this room one lower from suit apparently and A GREAT room was on the 2nd floor and not the ground floor as we booked β I was told the hotel is fully booked and theres no other room. To my knowledge the ground floor rooms are more expensive. This room again had no chair for the dresser β the cupboards in the main area looked damp β¦and the room was not made up for guestsβ¦anyone could see that. But hey βit was one lower from a suitβ. The breakfast was below average β not enjoyable at all. The bacon was horrible β¦thereβs crispy and thereβs hard rubber, the bacon was the latter. The serving dishes were always almost empty β¦.fruit barely anythingβ¦.no scrambled eggs. Livers were terrible. The lady taking your room number at breakfast needs training on our to speak to guests β her attitude was as unpleasant as room 110. Soho is not a 4-star hotel from the Roomsβ¦to the friendliness of the hotel all 3 star maybe less

Β Β Β Read moreWow what a bad experience, the water is brown and yellow in the rooms ,impossible to bath or brush your teeth with that filth,cockroach infestations which i reported the night before to the prive,we were playing black jack in prive when cockroaches were running on the table and on the dealers chair ,she had to kill the cockroach mid game,the bathrooms in prive are riddled too my husband then called the cleaner and the cleaner told him this is normal they do have a roach problem,we then proceeded to call reception the next morning regarding the water they told us to keep the water running, 1hour later the water is still the same they then told us to shower at the neighboring room ,as if we must leave our room just to shower after paying almost 5k for 2 nights we then said call the manager, the manager Letsweletse comes 30 mins later with a security guard to our room πwhat a joke as if we are some sort of threat ,he comes with such a bad attitude I tried to explain that this is the 3rd time I've come here now with this exact problem he told me to keep quiet he will talk first, I was so shocked I then asked for a refund for the day which he said will not be happening, I told him with this terrible service and disgusting attitude ill now proceed to put this viral on social media ,he told me no problem and after my husband debating for 15 mins he then said he will give a refund for 1 day ,honestly if he had came to us respectfully I would've moved rooms but after telling me to keep quiet he will talk first I was so upset I didn't want to stay there at all ,I'm so upset about this I have 2 million viewers on tiktok and will be posting this with pictures...
Β Β Β Read moreI was booked in room 319 which did not have an aircon but a cooler which was releasing extremely hot π₯΅ air, I went to the reception around 7pm to notify them of problem and the lady by the name Dudu told me there is nothing the hotel could do about it, I was shocked at this response and she advised me all the rooms were like that if I want I should switch off the cooler. I went back tried to switch off the cooler and the room became unbearably humid, my two children were sweating I was experiencing a terrible headache, around 9pm I called reception again asking even for a desk fan and the same Dudu told me housekeeping did not have and there is nothing they could do as there were no other rooms. Around 10pm I decided to go to the reception to ask them if I could sleep on the floor in passage or they could arrange someone to escort me back to my house in Pecanwood Estate Hartbeespoort, I requested to see the Manager the same Dudu then pointed me to the lady by the name Grace, who then changed my room. We finally moved rooms around 10:19pm . Not a proper apology was given and when the guy who came to help us move rooms came in, he was shocked at the heat that was in the room. As a regular Sun International customer I strongly feel Dudu requires more training, the painful experience my children and I experienced last night was unfair. No one came to check what I was complaining about, and to think I am booked at the same hotel for next weekendβs Association of Mine Managers function and the following weekend for the Joyous Celebration.
