Karoo Kaya is highly recommended for a pleasant stay, friendly service with good knowledge of the town and surrounding area. The cottages are spacious and Karoo style decorated. Very quiet at night for a peaceful sleep surrounded by a mosquito net that we found indispensable. Extras that we did not expect: coffee, tea, ice, sugar (white), rusks and milk as well as free range supply of fruit and veggies when available. The off-street parking is on the property, but your vechile is out of sight.
I would say that this place can be wheelchair friendly, but first discuss with the owner.
A big positive: we could take our little dog along. This was a blessing. The dog was also welcomed at most places in town.
Please take note: there is a TV room and no TV's in the cottages itself. Unfortunately, the one negative is that the wifi is very weak. Perhaps Megan can look into it to boost the signal.
But, we would return and will recommend Karoo Kaya to...

The house was clean and comfortable, however there wasn’t much space to pack stuff as most surfaces were covered with bits and bobs. Other than a little clutter, it was one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed in. We got the opportunity to walk in a huge vegetable garden maintained by the owner, and even pick as many vegetables as we wanted to. There were goats to be fed and chickens to be seen. The pool was lovely and refreshing, if a bit small, and there were lovely places to ride our bicycles. All the guests share a braai area and it is lovely getting to know new people. There are a small honesty bar and a TV in an upstairs room for watching sporting events, etc. but we didn’t make use of that because there were far more interesting...

No mosquitoes were bothering us during the night due to the big net we slept under and using the provided spray 30 min before retiring to bed. Slept like babies. The info booklet provided by Megan has lots of useful tips, which we followed, like the beautiful sunset just outside town, lighting up the Swartberg mountain gorges pink. We realised that 2 nights were not enough to explore everything in Prince Albert and the surrounding areas. Next time we will definitely spend longer. The homemade rusks were enjoyed with filter coffee in the morning, and in the evening, the homemade apricot liqueur was a great night cap. We enjoyed it so much, that we bought a bottle....
