OMG what a pleasure to arrive at 81 on church B and B after a hot and adventurous day of exploring the surrounds of Prince Albert including creating the Swartberg pass, exploring the Cango Caves and wondering back to Prince Albert through Meiringspoort. You find this oasis of a pool deck in the most beautiful lush garden setting lounging back drinking Johan's famous citrus GNT using lemons's off his own lemon tree in the garden. Splash....the only way to recover from a hot day in the Karoo.
81 on Church is brilliantly located in the middle of the walking kilometer of Prince Albert allowing you to choose a different dining experience for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the whole weekend.
The room's are spacious, airconditioned and beautifully appointed flowing seamlessly into the beautiful courtyards and gardens. Johan is the perfect host being attentive but not intrusive.
Spoil yourself with a getaway to 81 in Prins Albert for weekend...

Easy parking on street- free. ||Johan met us on arrival and was very welcoming. We had booked two rooms and both were spacious, well appointed with great amenities. Johan was knowledgeable on the area and recommended some eateries to try as they do not serve any food on the premises. Variety of places to eat which are all within a short walking distance. We went to the gin bar next door which I will review separately!! ||Comfortable bed. No noise from traffic at night despite the room I was in facing the road. ||Only there for a night however even on this basis would recommend this accommodation and the little hamlet of Prince Albert...
Read moreAlso known as 81 on Church, this place really is amazing. Johan is kind and gave us a warm reception. The bedding felt soft and luxurious and our bed slept like our bed at home and that isn’t something you often find in guest houses or B&B’s. The room even had filter coffee and two French Press sizes. So you could have your morning coffee and also refill your travel flask at the same time. If you’d rather not stay in the main house, there are newly built (very fancy) cottages, in the back. This place comes highly recommended. Wherever you choose to stay on this property, it truly feels like your home...
