We booked the Glass House long ago, and our decision was based on the pictures of the place. Arriving, it was even more wonderful than the pictures could tell. Such a hidden treasure, surrounded by nature, where you can come to peace with the environment or start exploring the neighbouring winelands. The little house is great, has a nice kitchen, a great bed and a fireplace for colder evenings. Lots of books available as well as other decorations and nice candles ! ||Jane took so much care to give us a food/drinks starting package (fresh fruits, filled fridge, ...) and we had nice conversations with her. She has two great assistants: Clement, helping with everything in and around the house, and always with a smile on his face, and ... Rafah, the 9 months old Golden Retriever from Jane, who was ready to play at any time, as from the early morning. One can prepare breakfast at home, or go to Le Pommier alternatively. They serve great breakfasts and the winefarm is located close to the house.||You will understand that we had a splendid time at the Glasshouse, and would return any time to this beautiful island of peace between Stellenbosch...

The place is ridiculously lovely, surrounded by a forest of trees and riverine bush, with a small gurgling stream. You walk up a winding path through the trees where your destination is hidden from view, and step into a haven of peace and tropical beauty. The house itself is beautifully, if eclectically furnished, with Persian rugs and objets d'art, books and games and comfy chairs. We were sad that we had the place for only one night. Hostess Jane and her staff and happy retriever only add to the charm. If you can...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me say that this place is a wonderful first class hideaway perfect to destress and decompress.
Situated in the foothills of Stellenbosch, the unit features a pool, safe parking, walking trails and a tranquil experience.
Expect a large comfortable bed, a fully stocked kitchenette, a fireplace (stocked with wood) air conditioning and free Wi-Fi.
The host is friendly and the environment is perfect for a weekend away, yet only about 10km outside Stellenbosch central.
The only criticism is that it's not wheelchair friendly, and for (very tall) people, the shower is a bit on the low side.
But well worth the stay and you...
