Banhoek Lodge — Hotel in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

Stay here! Seriously, if you are planning to visit Stellenbosch, and book the Deluxe Suite. This is a small boutique hotel with I believe 8-10 rooms, max. The Deluxe Suite was breathtaking to say the least.

The room was on the second floor over looking a vineyard and mountain. The view was worth the price of the room on its own. The doors/windows go the length of the room and you can keep them fully open to enjoy fresh air, a glass of wine, dinner/breakfast on the balcony, etc. Or you can just lay in bed between winery visits and admire the view. You get sunrise and sunset from bed. It is just spectacular. And the room minus the view is outstanding as well. First, it is huge. It has a couch with a coffee table, a desk if you need to work, fully stocked minibar, and plenty of closet space. The bed is huge, overlooking the vineyards and mountain.

Bathroom - Huge two headed shower, separate toilet, double sinks, a huge tub, heated floors... that is just the bathrooms section. The Suite is a large rectangle and the bathroom is open unless you want to close it fully.

Breakfast is included and made to order. They will bring it to your room at whatever time you want. The staff was wonderful and made the stay perfect.

Somehow this place only gets a four star on the Stellenbosch/South Africa hotel rating scale. I have nothing but praise for the hotel, staff, and room. It was incredible and out of any hotel in the world I can think of that I have stayed, this would be the room I would pick to stay again in visiting the same place. It was that perfect.

I googled and researched A LOT before making the decision to book at Banhoek Lodge and when we arrived, i was not disappointed and def. did not regret it!!! There was a small misunderstanding with our room, but they kindly took care of everything and we were kindly upgraded it! The suite was just AMAZING!!!! Really... waking up with that view was just...... speechless.... we also received a complimentary bottle of wine. It was our wedding anniversary and we were spoiled by them. Super nice staff!! Very warm and welcoming!! Breakfast is beautifully prepared on the balcony with a view!! You dont get tired of looking at it. The breakfast can also be delivered to your room, which I thought it was nice. The food was delicious!! The staff also incredibly nice and helpful from checking in, to help us book restaurants and giving directions! You have to stay here !! It has a GREAT location and it js super close to town and to Tokara, Delaire Graff, Clouds Estate, etc. the same views these guys have, you will have too! Dnt...

We loved our stay at this charming bed & breakfast! We couldn't get enough of the views from our room and from the lodge in general, which is surrounded by picturesque vineyards and mountains. We stayed in the junior suite which was clean & spacious, had a massive window and great terrace to to enjoy the views and we loved keeping our doors open for a the breeze... the staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the dining staff remembered our breakfast order each day and accommodated for special requests (e.g. vegan). The lodge did offer a couple of free wine tastings and had a nice little wine route you could walk between. The lodge is in a fantastic, central location.
