Camberley Wines — Attraction in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

Camberley Wines offers a small and intimate tasting room that sets the stage for a cozy wine-tasting experience. During our visit, we were greeted by a friendly lady who guided us through their interesting wine selection. Speaking of the wines, they offer a decent selection, including whites and reds. One particular standout was their Camberley Pinotage 2017, which piqued our interest with its remarkable 16% alcohol content. This wine boasts a port-style profile that's unique, showcasing a depth of flavor and complexity that's not overly sweet, making it an intriguing choice for those seeking something different. This used to be my favourite tasting in Stellenbosch. I came through today and was immediately disappointed about the new tasting room, one didn't walk through the cellar anymore.

But okay, should still be a good tasting... Unfortunately not!

The person working today was clearly not interested in helping us, didn't talk to us about the wines, didn't provide a price list for purchasing, was busy on her cell phone the whole time, and after the tasting had started informed us that the card machine wasn't working.

A far cry from the usual engaging experience I was expecting and previously experienced.

We just had the loveliest evening at Camberley. If you are looking for hospitality and homeliness. This is the place to go. We felt so welcome and cosy here. The owner? John even sat with us for a drink and gave us more information on the wines, and was mixing them right in front of us. Amori was a lovely hostess too even working under such pressure. We loved our time here so much. Especially the gorgeous dogs; Maggie and Patch 💜
