MAISON MONTAGNE at Dieu Donne Vineyards — Hotel in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

We (two couples) spent 2 nights at Maison Montagne and we are entirely happy about our stay. We stayed in the best rooms : Peony and Grey. Both rooms are equally good - Grey is located at the valley side and Peony more to the back, but both have a small balcony with table and 2 chairs and offer magnificent, picture perfect views of Franschhoek valley. Note that I had a peak in the downstairs room and that looked equally good (same size, same quality finishing). Service was good and efficient - housekeeping did a great job and the girls at reception and breakfast were great. Breakfast consisted of a small buffet with yoghurt, fresh fruit, bread and guest could choose 'à la carte' the preferred cup of coffea/tea and hot dish (from all kinds of eggs, pancake etc). Pool was great too.... a suggestion here : instead of leaving the cleaning robot in the whole day, it might be nicer for guests to clean the pool with a net in the morning and around noon and put the robot on at night if necessary. We spent 2 lovely nights here recently and highly recommend it for anyone exploring Franschoek and the surrounding vineyards. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and they left us a bottle of champagne and rose petals on the bed when they heard it was our anniversary which was really sweet. Our room and bathroom were both huge and very comfortable, and the view from our balcony over the vineyards and valley was amazing. We also had the best shower either of us have ever experienced!! The only small downside is that breakfast wasn't anything special - it was nice but some elements could be improved upon like the hollandaise sauce. Overall we highly recommend staying here for a couple nights and requesting a room upstairs...

I travel a lot & I can say I spend more than half a year spending nights at different hotels. I was truly impressed with our stay at Maison Montagne. Booked this very last second. I saw the properties on hotels.com and, was in the area & just decided to drive to the property since it was 10pm and, was not sure if they really had a room available. At arrival we met Karim - real nice guy. Takes care of guests & property from evening until morning. And, Clint was a great host too. Very welcoming & informative.
