On arrival, the host, Garrit Bosman was friendly and gave us a very warm welcome and we immediately felt at home.
The accommodation is at close proximity with Gorge Lift and the scenery and views of the accomodation are relaxing.
The chalet was very presentable and clean. The sheets are not white, they are beige. The furniture is old fashioned and the drawers (kitchen cabinets and wardrobe drawers) don't really close properly unless you push them by force. The pots, crockery and cutlery were available though it didnt match.
The room had a TV (open view) and there was wifi as well.
The bathroom was clean, however, we realized on the second day that when you use the basin, the water from the basin drain push out to the shower drain and bath tub, and theres also a toxin smell coming out of there, so for us the basin felt like the safest to use the entire time we were there.
There is a restuarant onsite but it only operated from 8am_9am for breakfast and then from 6pm to 9pm for supper - and honestly thier services and food was really not good for the price charged. We definitely wouldn't recommend it - eat there at your own risk. There's other restuarants around the area which we never tried because we preferred cooking ourselves.
For self catering, make sure that you bring all your groceries from the store you trust because theres only a Spar close by and the food sold there is not fresh, the frozen veggies were off, everything we bought tasted like rejects ( snacks/juice/bread ...literally everything). We discovered hazeyview junction which was 35km away, atleast we got decent groceries there.
We would definatley recommend the accomodation if you want to do the panoramic route because it's centered and it's much easier to get to all attractions. Also because the host and the room service staff is very friendly and...

Read moreMy family and I thoroughly enjoyed our short, 4 day stay at Mogodi Lodge.
The lady at the front desk is professional, the security guard and staff are friendly. The units are clean, spacious and well maintained.
Each unit does have WiFi that is relatively stable, definitely stable enough to get some work done. Braai facilities are included for each unit as well which is fully catered for.
There is a restaurant and pub located on the premises which offers great views over the gorge. Food was good but nothing exceptional.
My only complaint would be the loud music from the restaurant located at the Gorge Lift Co. across from Mogodi. Nothing too serious but does become unpleasant after a while. They seem to turn the music down around 4pm each afternoon.
Another great upside Mogodi offers is free entry (otherwise R70.00 per person) at the Graskop Gorge Lift Co. for all visitors who are staying at the lodge, as well as a 10% discount when making use of the restaurant located on the premises.
I would recommend a few improvements to Mogodi. Firstly, the units located the closest to the gorge could really do with a simple walkway between the road and the stoep. Carrying your bags over the grass, especially if it has been raining unfortunately does tend to be a bit of a problem. Secondly I suggest Mogodi change the blue and green/turquoise found throughout the lodge to a modern color such as gray or white. This will drastically improve the feel and make the lodge look modern again.
Other than the above mentioned, zero complaints. We will definitely be...
