We stayed here for 2 nights during our Gyeongju Tour. I travelled with family, including my brother in law who was a local.||||The rooms are spacious - we had a 2 bedroom unit and all 7 of us were able to sleep fine, with room for our luggage to spare. From what my sister told me (she can speak Korean and have travelled to similar facilities in Gyeongju before), we were in charge of maintaining the cleanliness of the unit, and there's no room service, so we had to clean and take the trash out ourselves. Okay.||||We were first sent to the older part of the complex, and the room that was given to us was musty. The bathroom was clean, but the slightly yellowed tiles gave away the age of the unit. The floors felt weird, too, and it had some tacky feeling on it. The worst was the lock to the main door was not working, so we had to request for a new room. Thankfully, the second room looked a lot cleaner, although the lighting was a bit sad and gloomy.||||The only amenities we checked out were the arcade area and the pool area. The pool had hot water but "meh" presentation. The arcade had few, and outdated games. The consoles were not maintained, too, so the controls sucked and some of them ate our 500 won. ||||We didn't stay a lot in the hotel, but my sister said the place was not as nice as the other similarly themed hotels in the area. I don't have any other experiences like her, but my impression of Hanwha is of...
Read moreThe hotel was okay for the price. We stayed in Eton side, everything is a little bit dated but was clean and functional. Everything was very basic.
There was an AC unit in the room but the AC didn’t reach well into the bedrooms, wish there was a fan at least to help airflow. There is a patio that can be opened but it’s pretty loud as our window faced the main lobby entrance. I also wish the room had a nightstand or dresser. The closet also had no hangers or hooks. No front closets either. We had to just lay out our luggage on the floor.
I was pleased there was a cafe and convenience store right in the lobby, did not get a chance to check out the restaurant. Parking was free, there is an outdoor parking lot and underground parking so we never had a problem finding a spot.
We tried the “Dad’s pizza” in Damton building but it was unpleasant and overpriced unfortunately. The back garden area behind the Damton building was nice.
This hotel is popular with families with young children because of the Pororo waterpark. There are also often school children that go there as it’s open to public too. So if kids or the sound of young children bothers you, don’t book this hotel. You can hear the sound of kids and music from the water park as well.
Overall I’d say this hotel is pretty basic, and okay for...
Read moreThe rooms in this gigantic property are large! They are also very old, but our room was clean and adequate for a night's sleep. A balcony overlooking the faraway lights of the city was nice. It's a pity it wasn't closer to the said city - it's in the middle of nowhere, and was crammed with busloads of school groups who noisily entered and ran around the grounds. Free wifi is available, but only in the foyer of the building. There is a large swimming pool (empty at the time of year we were there) and a great looking kids' pool area. Dining was within the complex or at adjoining properties - a few takeaway places and a couple of restaurants. We got a terrific pizza from across the road. There are no bath towels provided - drying a large body with two hand towels is a bit of an experience! Lol. Pretty basic place to stay, with no amusements, no night life and nowhere to go, but was fine for a one night stay. Not top notch, but not disgusting. Breakfast was good in the adjoining building. Cute little coffee/cake shop there, and also a well stocked convenience store. Not a tourist mecca, but brilliant for schools...
