The Grand Hyatt Incheon is a quiet, luxurious retreat just minutes from Incheon International Airport—ideal for layovers, business travelers, or those seeking a high-end experience near the airport. It’s polished, spacious, and packed with upscale amenities, but not without a few caveats depending on your travel style.
Pros: • Quiet & Luxurious: Despite being next to a major airport, the hotel feels serene and high-end throughout. A great place to recharge. • Spacious Rooms: Rooms are large, modern, and well-appointed—plenty of space to stretch out, especially compared to typical city hotels. • Top-Notch Amenities: Indoor pool, fitness center, spa, and more—ideal for a relaxing stopover or a productive business stay. • Excellent Dining: Multiple restaurants and room service are standout features. Food quality and presentation are on par with what you’d expect from a luxury property. • Perfect for Transit: Just a few minutes from the airport with frequent shuttle service—seamless for arrivals and departures.
Cons: • Far from Seoul: If your goal is to explore the capital, be prepared for a long commute. The hotel is not ideal as a Seoul sightseeing base. • Non-Centric Staff: While professional, service can feel procedural or impersonal compared to the warm hospitality you might find in Seoul’s boutique hotels. • Local Custom Considerations: Some amenities (like the spa, saunas, or pool areas) may have strict rules around attire or behavior, which could be a surprise to international travelers. • Confusing Train Access: If you’re relying on public transportation, the train system around the airport area can be tricky to navigate without local knowledge.
Bottom Line:
The Grand Hyatt Incheon is a stellar airport hotel—quiet, luxurious, and loaded with quality dining and amenities. It’s perfect for a restful stopover or business travel, but less ideal if you’re planning to explore Seoul in depth or expect Western-style flexibility in amenities. Come prepared, and it’s a seamless...
Read moreMy experience with this hotel was extremely disappointing from start to finish. I had specifically reserved a room with an airport view, as I was looking forward to watching the planes and enjoying the scenery during my stay. However, when I arrived at the hotel, the front desk staff informed me that I could receive an upgrade to a club member room, which supposedly included additional benefits and amenities, for just a few dollars more. Trusting their recommendation, I agreed to the upgrade, expecting an even better experience.
To my shock, when I got to my room, I discovered it was located in the far back corner of the hotel. Instead of the promised airport view, all I could see from my window was the parking lot and a row of trash cans. The room itself felt cheap and did not reflect the club-level quality I was told to expect. I felt completely scammed, as I ended up paying more for a room that was actually worse than the one I had originally booked.
The customer service was even worse than I expected. One instance that stood out was when I called to order room service. I asked if they could leave the food inside my room while I was attending an important meeting just outside. The staff were not only unwilling to accommodate this simple request, but they were also quite rude in their response. They insisted that I had to be present in the room to receive the food and made no effort to offer any alternative or show understanding for my situation. This lack of flexibility and courtesy further added to my frustration and reinforced my negative impression of the hotel’s service.
Overall, my stay at this hotel was a huge letdown. Not only did I not receive what I paid for, but I also felt disrespected as a customer. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when booking here, as my experience was far from what was advertised. I definitely will not be returning to this hotel...
Read moreI’m a new fan of Hyatt Regency! Exceptional service, and always someone who goes the extra step. In this case it was Reus Choi at Restaurant 8. I ate the buffet dinner and the food was seriously delicious, fresh—I say with from the perspective of an avid foodie—and artistically presently.
I mentioned my food allergies—bell peppers, chili pepper, jalapeño pepper, and cayenne pepper—as I was shown to the table and Reus went with me to the different buffet stations, personably checking with the chefs if the ingredients weren’t obvious. He didn’t just do this once, but accompanied me on more than 4 trips…hey, it was a buffet and there were many different stations. There was grilled asparagus I was about to get but Reus pointed out that it had a light chili pepper sauce, which I hadn’t noticed. He offered to ask to cook asparagus without the sauce, but I said not to bother. After I started tucking into dinner, he came by with some asparagus specially cooked for me without the sauce.
I’m simply blown away by this type of care and service. And that is not even mentioning the room…
I booked a king bed – high floor for a very reasonable price. Paul Yun at the reception desk offered a late 7pm (19:00) check-out for an additional 110,000 won extra ($84) when he found out I had a really late 11 pm flight the next day, which I gladly accepted. He upgraded me to a gorgeous suite with a huge living area, which by itself is the size of a regular hotel room. It had a separate generously-sized bedroom, a large bathroom, and a big walk in closet. It was 2 or 3 times the size of a regular hotel room!
And Paul didn’t even tell me he was upgrading the room…he just left it as a lovely surprise.
Very, very impressive. Perfect as a connection lay-over stay. I highly...
