There's plenty to do for the family at Vivaldi Park, and I enjoyed most of it. There's outdoor activities like the gondola cable lifts that go up the hill, and there's sheep that you can feed at the top. There are swings you can ride that are on the edge, which looked cool and scary but we didn't do that. There is a small handful of indoor amusement rides, which are okay. A small merry-go-round, spinning UFO thing and bumper cars. I enjoyed the bumper cars the most. There are also some other arcade type games, as well as pool/ping pong. There seems to be an indoor race-track of some kind, but I didn't see it operating at any time.

That was one of the disappointing aspects to me for the time we were there. I don't know if it was due to covid or the time of the week, but there were a lot of things that were not open. The race-track, a lot of restaurants. It seemed like some things were under construction, or just closed up entirely. The place overall wasn't very vibrant, it was a little empty, and seeing empty shops around made it a little depressing, but maybe just I noticed that (kids enjoyed).

We spent our second day at the water park, which was mostly good, albeit pretty typical waterpark. One thing that bugged me right at the start was the area inside with the slides for kids under about 110cm. Parents can't accompany their down the slides (as was shouted at me after I did so before I realized...). Kids under 110cm, in my opinion, are pretty small for going down the waterslide alone. They have to wear a life jacket, but nonetheless they could end up flipped around and be facedown. I need to help my 2.5yr old daughter up the steps to get into the entrance to the slide, but then if something were to happen I need to run back down the stairs and wade over to the exit from the slide. That annoyed me. Parents should be able to accompany their small children on those slides (or don't operate them).

The room we stayed in felt kinda old. It was okay and usable, but not very nice. The main problem I had with it was that there is only an AC unit in the living room. I wanted to sit out and relax a little at night after the kids went to bed, but the bedroom has no air circulation and it got quite hot and stuffy in the room with the door closed. So we had to leave the bedroom doors open to avoid cooking the kids. Could have opened the window (in one of the rooms, the 2nd room had no window at all!), but it was noisy due to construction outside.

Anyway, those are the highlights. The place has plenty to do, and I would recommend it for young families. Just a couple things bugged me, and hopefully it becomes more...

During the rush to turn in rentals, feed all the people, groom before the night session, or sell all the lift passes, Vivaldi always seems like a well-oiled machine. It has to be to handle the weekend crowds, but during weekdays it's much less crowded.

Snow quality could be better sometimes when it's cold & dry and you would expect them to make tons of snow using the weather to their advantage but instead find a thin layer of fresh artificial on top of hard pack ice that is very painful to catch an edge on. During warmer days, you get cascade concrete, the wet cement-like mixture of slightly wet artificial snow that is mostly enjoyable because it controls well enough and is forgiving.

There are a variety of free shuttles from Seoul if you use the Korean site. The English site will funnel you into a very narrow set of choices. There's a 30% discount for being a foreign citizen.

There's a lot of food options and even more if you include the still-convenient underground shopping center that connects the resort buildings to the slopes.

There is at least one high-speed lift to the top. Only two lines off the top keep me doing laps without skating, but this was also a function of my super slow rental board base. On faster bases I've been able to take more lines.

For getting some laps in on acceptable slopes close to Seoul, it's likely one of the best. If the high-tech snow gear was used more generously in cold spells or if there was one or two more interesting slopes, I'd give it 4 stars. It's an okay place for new riders who frankly can't capitalize on high-quality base or a large variety of slopes. The smooth experience will also keep beginners from feeling frustrated by all schlepping involved in getting onto the slopes.

There is clothing included in the rental price but I have my own so I don't know about how that works. I just know that it's...

I was on the 20th floor of SONO Belle VIVALDI PARK Tower B, parkview, suite, for 3days and 2 nights in 2024 and 2days and 1 night in 2025 with my family.

When I made a reservation via phone, the kind staff advised me that Tower B is the closest to skiing facilities. I followed the staff's suggestions and then confirmed this room.

Wow, beautiful scenery thrilled us. We really enjoyed the white colored wonderful views. Actually, the room condition was not the state-of-the-arts, but it was renovated and maintained very well.

It has a small refrigerator and an electric kettle. I could enjoy instant noodles and cool beverages. Sadly, there was no microwave in my room. This resort provides two public microwave ovens near the elevators on the 16-20th floors. The access elevators are segregated to odd, even levels and/or low, high levels.

In terms of amenities, it provides soap, shampoo, and body wash. So, you need to prepare for the others, e.g., toothpaste, shaver, etc. in advance.

For your information, there is a shopping mall, VIVA PLEX mall, which connects Tower A, Tower B, and Tower C on the basement level. There are various restaurants, a supermarket, coffee shops, a spa, a pharmacy, a bowling club, billiards room, bars, etc.

From Gangdong-gu, Seoul, it takes 1 hour and 30 minutes. Its accessibility is one of the strong points of it. On the other hand, I saw many tourists who speak Chinese. Maybe they are here to enjoy skiing for the winter season.

It is my personal opinion that if you wish to enjoy a calm atmosphere to take a rest, you'd better consider other resorts, because it has epic vibes. For hitting the slope, I would like to visit this resort...

Closest ski resort to Seoul. There are several slopes for levels from beginner to advanced. Here are my advices for one day usage. Do not buy tickets from ticket box even they say they offer 30% discount for foreigners. You better go to tourism information office near by there and pay 77K won for rentals(board/ski/ shose) + Lift (8 hours limited) + ski clothes in total. It costs much higher if you buy lift+rental+ clothes from ticket box. But, tourism information center dont have tailbone and knee protection kit. You better buy in advance from internet or shops at sight. For season pass owners; buy your season pass from the cheapest place (internet or shop) and use long term ski/snowboard lockers in the building near by the middle level slope. They offer discount for long term lockers if you have season pass. Additionally, there is one sausage buffet and one traditional Korean Fish cake soup(which is my favourite as it is served in a cup full if hot soup) buffet in the slope area with reasonable price. For more food, you can go inside the building after you lock your equipments in lockers outside with 2K won (coins). Lastly, you can use free shuttle busses from many different places around Seoul. A very nice place. Highly recommended.

Vivaldi Park needs more space, or it needs to limit the number of people on the slopes. Transportation to/from the resort is good. It's a good place for beginners if you can get discounted lift tickets (which is easy to do by calling ahead with a group of friends, or at the end of the season) Food is overpriced, more than twice the average price. Clothing rental is also overpriced. The often large number of people on the slopes makes skiing/snowboarding at Vivaldi very dangerous during the regular season. All of my beginner friends have been hurt here because of other people crashing into them. The snow quality in Korea in general is icy at every resort, including Vivaldi. But, despite all this, it is a fun place to go on warmer days in March, the last days of the season. The snow is icy and slushy, but not hard, doesn't hurt to fall, the lifts are about half price or less, and there's not too many people.
